After the somewhat lackluster first episode, True Tears turned into a complete whirlwind that greatly exceeded my expectations. At a trim 13 episodes with very little filler, I think True Tears is a great example of how to present a (somewhat) realistic romance.
Of course with that said, the plot of True Tears is not [...]
Summary:
If snow can save you from dying in a motorcycle crash, it can also save you from falling to your death. Noe ends up with just a fractured leg bone, and reveals that she thought she could fly after watching how awesome Shinichiro’s dance was. Hiromi is worried about Noe pulling the sympathy [...]
Summary:
Jibeta doesn’t really want to fly to his death in the freezing ocean, so Noe decides to just go home after doing some crazy projection on the poor rooster. Noe comes back and finds a crumpled up letter addressed to Jun; a phone call confirms that Jun has abandoned his dream of vocational school [...]
Summary:
Hiromi’s been having fun living in her own apartment for the last week and using her feet to dress herself. She invites Shinichiro over and then takes him to the beach (she loves snowy beaches); there, Hiromi suddenly kisses Shinichiro and sends his mind into turmoil. Not everyone is pleased by this latest [...]
Summary:
We get a bit of resolution to the Ai fiasco, as Ai tries to break up to Miyokichi but gets denied. In response, Miyokichi asks Noe to curse his heart so that he won’t be hurt when Ai leaves him. Interestingly enough, Ai decides she has graduated from Shinichiro, so I guess she [...]
I was pondering the following points:
Who is Raigomaru? Everyone thinks it’s Shinichiro, but I am starting to think it is actually Noe. I think the prominent feather on Noe’s bag is meant to be a clue. Perhaps this realization (with Shinichiro’s help) will give Noe back her tears and help her to [...]
Summary:
Jun swerves to avoid a bunny, and the bike crashes. Everyone is ok, and fortunately Shinichiro and Noe were stalking the basketball couple in a taxi. Noe is very happy that Jun is ok, but she is shocked when she sees Shinichiro embrace Hiromi tightly. When they get home, Shinichiro tries to [...]
Shinichiro thinks about how soft Ai’s lips were, but in the flashback we see him tell Ai that they are not only “just friends,” but even like siblings. Ouch, sometimes even the childhood friend advantage is not enough. Noe and Shinichiro spend some time together, and she is really enthusiastic about his Raigomaru [...]
Shinichiro thinks about it some more and realizes that, “We might be related,” is an awesome way to reject/dump someone. With Hiromi out of his thoughts, he realizes that he might have some feelings for Noe. Noe suspects that Hiromi is to blame for Shinichiro’s moodiness, and tries to give Hiromi a bento [...]
Shinichiro lets Miyokichi in, and through a series of unfortunate events, Miyokichi learns that Ai bought that plain purple sweater because she saw that Shinichiro was drawn to it. We get a flashback of Shinichiro telling Ai about “nice guy” Miyokichi and then bringing them together so Miyokichi can confess. Ai caves to [...]
Hiromi starts to act more normal towards Shinichiro and gets scolded by his mom for walking with him in public. Later on, we find an old family album where every picture of Yuasa-okasan’s face has been cut out. Tomoyo wants Hiromi to forget about Shinichiro, but when Shinichiro comes over to her room [...]
Hiromi starts lying about how she met Number 4 and instantly took a liking to him, and Shinichiro is very disappointed. As he is moping, he runs into Ai, and he blames her for giving him false hope. Suddenly, Ai gets very flirty and invites Shinichiro shopping with her, while lying about why [...]
Shinichiro is annoyed that Noe is leaving him packets of seeds everywhere, but when he goes to complain, he’s surprised to see her with her arms wrapped around a bishie on a motorcycle. Later that day, Ai explains how sometimes if you can’t be close to the one you love, you pick someone who [...]
