Summary:

Say Che.... eeeeeeeese!

Sawako is excited to be going to her first sleepover, but the only entertainment that Chizuru had planned was one of Ryu’s video games.  Unfortunately, Ryu just told Chizuru not to come over his place during the next two days.  Chizuru assumes Ryu is mad at her, but Ayane convinces her to stop over that very night and apologize after giving Ryu his gift (early).  The girls drop by Ryu’s place and find a sasusage fest gathered to cheer up Jonouchi “Joe” Soichi.

As luck would have it, Tohru got out of work early and shows up unexpectedly… with his skirt-wearing fiance, Katayama Haruka.  Chizuru tries to hide her disappointment, and Shota quickly shoos everyone out of the house before something weird happens.  Sawako and Ayane get stuck playing cards for over 4 hours, and Sawako awakens to find that Chizuru never went to sleep and still can’t muster up the courage to wear a mini-skirt.  Chizuru wants to go over to the Sanada residence, ostensibly to congratulate Tohru, but when she hears everyone laughing heartily she realizes she is just a neighbor and not really a family member.

Let’s face it, the loli never has a real chance to win, although it is a little odd thinking of Chizuru as the loli.  Besides, Haruka was much better looking, and it was clear that once Chizuru stopped cockblocking, Tohru was able to seal the deal with one of his many girlfriends.  Am I supposed to feel bad for Chizuru?  I just can’t, especially after she hijacked my girl Ayane’s pity party.  Ayane freaking got assaulted and now she has to deal with that loser Soichi constantly trying to grab the rebound; yet no one even cares.

Now the stage is set for someone else to capture Shota’s heart tomorrow, for a massive pity party hijack (although I highly doubt this will happen).  I wonder if Ryu will be able to take advantage of this very nice turn of events.  Not only is Chizuru vulnerable now, but it’s clear that any compliments about her hot mature body and great legs will score critical hits.  It’s ironic that when Chizuru finally matures enough to leave Tohru alone, it’s too late.  As for some final random thoughts, I noticed the artwork was noticeably uglier this episode, and that Sawako likes to watch her friends get changed.
