Epi’s (bi)Weekly Roundup 02 (now with pics!)

Yay for Minatsu! If only she were voiced by Megumi Toyoguchi... (click pic for large version)

Following in line with Kabitzin’s old monthly ‘lists’…

My top 5 for November:

5) Sora No Otoshimono – Totally not what I expected… the comedy is pure gold! Huzzah for pantsu-robot!

4) Kampfer – Can’t get enough of Kampfer as dumb as this show is. I’m a sucker for cute girls…

...and did I mention I liked curry too? (click on image for full size)

...and did I mention I liked curry too? I approve of Mikoto's clothing choices! (click on image for full size)

3) Kimi ni Todoke – Great shojo show, but kind of slow so far. I hope this series goes to 26+ episodes because I feel it will be better and better with time (yes I’m aware ANN only lists up to 12 episodes, but they did that for Macross Frontier too!)

2) Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood – We’ve reached a bit of a lull last few episodes, I’m hoping that it will pick up again with the new arc! But still loving this series.

1) A Certain Scientific Railgun – I didn’t even like Index that much (only saw up to ep 8)… the reason? Not enough BIRIBIRI. Perfect blend of yuri-hijinks and action combined with awesome animation and the best OP/ED duo this season.

BiriBiri I love you!

BiriBiri I love you!

Saten, a girl after my own heart... I like eating ice too!

Rising:

Yumeiro Patissiere – I’m a sucker for these kind of shows

Seitokai no Ichizon – Show is growing on me, and I’m impressed by the good voice work done by these unknown seiyuu.

Falling:

Darker than Black – Gemini of the Meteor – I’m starting to think that the show would have been better if they didn’t have all the crap with Suou and just continued directly from last season… there were more than enough mysteries which were unresolved to make a great show

Letter Bee – weird character designs, I stopped watching a few eps back… anyone still watching it, is it good?

Other stuff:

Funny shirts of the past two weeks…

No one told Tomo the world's going to end December 21, 2012

Yes, you are fat.

Yes, you are fat... I mean FAT!

This show is boring and so are the shirts

Seitokai no Ichizon. It’s basically a comedy mostly set in one room, the student council room and about the members of the student council interacting with each other.

Ah, thanks! I haven’t gotten around to checking that show out yet, but I think I will now.

        It is that.

        I would have said, “It’s about a man’s quest to create a harem!” :P

Its called Seitokai no Ichizon, the show does have its own appeal. The girls in Kampfer are very…what’s up with these girls! They’re so weird, even for a anime this is just too much!
I’m not sure how to rate DTB2, the show’s good, but I’m not sure if I’m liking the direction the shows going. I hope they give us more info.

Hahah the Kampfer girls are a bit weird but hey it’s part of the appeal. For some reason, everytime I see Mikoto and hear her theme song, I think of Koalla Su from Love Hina…

Wow, the full picture of Minatsu just makes her look that much better :3 Although I share your appreciation of Toyoguchi Megumi, I think Minatsu’s VA works out perfectly for her.

I’m actually not a big fan of the Railgun OP/ED. The OP isn’t terrible, but it isn’t something I really cared to listen to over and over again. The ED was just boring. It fits the series, but it’s not really something I’d listen to.

Kampfer has become so much more awesome now that Shizuku has joined with the rest of the gang. She adds that playful teasing to the mix that was sorely lacking except weakly with the Entrails Animals.

The thing is, when I first heard Minatsu’s voice I actually thought it was Toyoguchi Megumi… but it wasn’t. So I was a bit thrown off by that. But I do agree the VA is doing a great job, I just really like Megumi :)

That screencap of Biribiri just made that episode for me! Never watched Index myself owing to how it sounded from the previews, but Railgun is quality action/comedy.

I’m glad someone else out there likes Seitokai no Ichizon, it just doesn’t seem to be getting much love. Didn’t know that the voice actors were unknowns, they’re doing a pretty nice job.

Well Jason has been heavily promoting Seitokai as the best show of the season and Evirus has had good things to say too, although I started watching it before that as I liked the description from the original preview post (even if only 7 people voted that they’d watch it LOL).

If they had more money I’d imagine Fukuyama Jun would be voicing Ken, and of course Megumi as Minatsu, with perhaps Aya Endo as Chizuru.

Well the show did catch me by surprise. After I saw Ken I couldn’t help but love this show. The guy is crazy, yet so awesome! Just when you think he’s a sensible character, he goes into harem mode. Great for laughs.

Then you quit just before her story arc. It’s eps 10-14. And her backstory as revealed is really heart breaking. (I just finished watching ep 14 last night.)

Whoops! Well I did actually download the whole series, just never finished it… damn I guess I will have to go back now.

Kämpfer is absolutely wonderful guilty pleasure material. Yay for an “inverse” harem with strong-minded girls going after the lead ;) … and Sango Shizuku is the most interesting new character in the anime world since Senjogahara Hitagi (they share alot of traits, by the way)
