Allow me to introduce myself...
And so I bowed before the selection committee and lo and behold, after many grueling interviews, three aptitude tests and one extra private session, I was selected to be the new writer on Sea Slugs! (Well to be honest, I sent an e-mail, wrote a sample post and I was chosen, and apparently someone else was already chosen before this process even started).
Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Epi and I’ve been visiting this blog since 2005 back when Kabitzin and I were the only two people I knew of who were blogging Suzuka. Since then I’ve regularly added my random comment here and there. I still remember when I missed replying to pick up my ‘prize’ of having the 4000th comment. Man that sucked… I think I was on vacation at the time.
I’ve been watching anime since I was too young to understand TV, but only started watching subbed anime with the release of the digisubs of Love Hina back in 2000 (I saw quite a few dubbed shows though, but I guess those don’t count). A few years later, I discovered the goodness that was Jeff Lawson’s anime blog (back when it was a 4-koma episodic blog) in addition to good old Karmaburn. From there my interest in anime blogging increased exponentially. Eventually I started my own blog (some of you may have read my blog AnimeSlice) which I ran for a few years before the pressures of school/work caught up to me. In the meantime I visited Japan twice (with a wall full of Gatcha to prove it) and watched more anime than I care to recall.
Recently I’ve managed to get some more free time and as such am free to blog again. The Sea Slugs! opportunity was too good to pass up. Instead of trying to round up readers, wouldn’t it be much better to be a writer for my favorite blog instead? Well here I am and I hope that you’ll all enjoy my writings here! I’m going to start slow by only blogging Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, but I imagine that will increase once I get going. I may still add a few random posts here and there on AnimeSlice if I think they don’t really fit here as well.
Current shows I’m following (in no particular order):
- Sora no Manimani
- Tokyo Magnitude 8.0
- Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu Season 2
- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
- Bakemonogatari
- CANAAN
- Saki
- Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom
- Spice and Wolf Season 2
- Shangri-La
- Tears to Tiara
(yes I watch too much anime)
P.S. Sorry Shin :p

About Epi: As a huge fan of all things mecha, high school and tsundere, I've been writing for SSAB! since the summer of 2009, although my love of anime spreads through all genres. I'm not as witty as some, but I aim to bring comprehensive and well-written anime reviews out there for you all out there to enjoy! |

Welcome on board
… expecting grrrrrreat things from you!
And yea, I thought the name sounded familiar. Suzuka rings a bell.
I also used to post a lot of AnimeSuki too years ago so you probably recognize me there as well, I’m sure we commented on the same threads tons of times.
wow!!!im a big fan of haruhi suzumiya, too^^i like her very much but i like shana more…
Congratulations! I’m looking forward to seeing all your excellent work.
Whoa, THE Epi? Better prepare yourself for the throngs of naked men sure to come…
LOL Baka!
Behold the green background of non-author users!!!
Trying to make sure everyone remembers who is the emperor, eh?
Not so much that, as I am happy to be commenting on a SS!AB post in which I am not the author!
Looks like I don’t have the blue background of the ‘author user’
You gotta be logged in when you post comments. And get a gravatar!!!
But but… Mentar doesn’t have one!! And it’s MENTAR!
Fine…
Belated welcome to Epi!
And yes, do get a Gravatar. So much more fun that way. E.g. I always look forward to Shin’s new avatar each season. Though I wish they could have an option to allow avatars to be historically specific (i.e. avatar X for time 1 to 2, avatar Y to time 3 to 4, etc).
Good to have you aboard! Now come on slacker, where’s that first FMA post??? Chop, chop on the double! Seriously though, since ep 19 was so win, start there. Please. I’ll give you a cookie: http://tinyurl.com/kwz8bp
I’ll wait here patiently…

Done yet?
Congrats! “Welcome” almost seems a little silly since you’re an old timer.
One down one to go?
Congrats! Looking forward to your FMA: Brotherhood posts.
Linking to pr0nografic material?!?! I think you’ll fit in just fine
Also, just forget about posting at AnimeSlice! You’ll have blue-commenting powers here! Why would you give that up? :-3
btw, if you did claim your prize, what would you ask Kabitzin to draw? Just curious =3
It’s like karma, in a way.
that poor unfortunate soul… it’s sad… but true!
(btw, there was some of your fanart that I’ve never seen! Interesting!) (btw, Chris/Kurisu wasn’t a lolicon right? He did watch K-ON though…)
Wow, good choice. This co-blogger selection receives the Epic Win stamp of approval.
Also…Jesus159159159 busting out Little Mermaid quotes?!?! When will the madness end?
Congratulations. Sea Slugs! is a team once again!
Congrats, a deserving choice!
The other author won’t be revealed until the movie, scheduled to release next winter, mwahaha!
Aww come on, now that’s just cruel.
BTW thanks everyone for the well wishes!
