Summary:
The envelope from last time is a set of press badges and an invitation to the anti-terrorist conference. This is a big honor (and obviously a trap for Maria), but since Minoru is a real reporter he goes to follow up on the Ua virus story and sends Maria to the conference. When Minoru interviews Hakkoo about the Kashmir area village, he is surprised to hear that she can talk. Moreover, Noto Mamiko’s voice completely blows his mind and renders him helpless. Speaking of which, Maria meets up with god-mode Alphard, but conveniently does not remember her.
The conference is suddenly interrupted by explosions and a video of Liang’s mouseketeer avatar taunting everyone. The leaders are escorted to the “underground shelter” which is really Alphard’s BSL4 room with negative air pressure. The Japanese undersecretary dies from the Ua virus, and Liang eagerly shows Alphard that she has captured Maria. Liang is furious when Maria calls up Canaan and tells Canaan not to come save her, but before Liang can kill Maria, Alphard shoots the gun out of Liang’s hand and tells her to stop hating so damn much. Of course Canaan is on her way anyway, but she’s still running through the underground sewers per Yuri’s awful directions.

What the hell kind of photographer is Maria? She shows up with her kit lens and no flash. She takes no pictures during the attack. The only thing Maria is good at is amassing yuri harems, which is clearly the reason why Alphard is keeping Maria alive and infecting tons of men with the Ua virus. I liked seeing young Alphard in the flashback, and it seems like Alphard was the original “Canaan” back when Siam was hired to train her. I suspect that Alphard found out that that pedo-charmer Siam names all his snake-tattooed lolis “Canaan” (must be a title like “Phantom”), and killed Siam out of jealousy when she found out he was creeping with white-haired Canaan.
You know when you go to Mapquest or Google Maps and get some nonsensical directions? I feel that’s what Yuri did to Canaan, out of spite. We’ve seen Canaan hop on trucks before, so I don’t understand why she had to hoof it to Maria. As for Liang, she was pretty GET SOME GET SOME awesome in this episode, although I don’t understand how she could select bombs with her nunchuk to blow up unless they were sequentially wired. Liang singing along and declaring it the Age of Love was spectacular, but I feel bad with how she is constantly scolded by Alphard. It’s clear that Liang has been idolizing Alphard for a while, yet Alphard is always giving her the cold shoulder. It’s as if all Alphard cares about is getting with as many people as possible to give them STDs.

Yeah there were so many awesome Liang moments in this episode. Singing, crazy nukchuk action, beating up Maria… the list goes on.
Wait, is it a kit lens? Somehow I always thought it was just a prime lens and doesn’t zoom. Or I’m just remembering it wrong.
I thought Canaan had to hoof it (via underground tunnels) to get past traffic and security check points.
Also, awesome roundhouse kick.
I guess it could be a prime lens too, but from watching Maria I somehow doubt it. I just assume she would use the crappiest lens available for her camera. Plus a prime lens would seem an odd choice for what she was doing.
Liang’s kick was not a roundhouse kick, it was a spinning hook kick (or at least that’s what we called it in taekwondo). I think it might also be called spinning heel or whip kick.
Canaan should have ridden a jet ski in the sewers!

Liang’s pretty hawt when she’s chewing up the scenery. Betcha she’s responsible for the voiceover whenever their group’s filming those Terrorist Reality TV vidyas (“Now with 80% more decapitations!”).
Though Alphard either detests her, takes the tsun-tsun thing to an excess, or is an even bigger “S” and loves watching her squirm…
Would it be safe to conclude that the side effects Maria got from the Ua virus were a solid hit to INT and WIS and a major boost to CHA and CON ? Also “Charm Haremette” as a 1/week Extraordinary ability.
…but, Kashmir ? Those folks haven’t looked very Indian to me…
What about the DEX increase? Didn’t you see Maria spinning through the air?
That was Combined Effort with Liang’s +2 Shoes of Kicking Your Face, which clearly have the Double Knockback enhancement. Doesn’t count.

I submit to you that Alphard and Maria are in fact Chikane and Himeko from Kannazuki no Miko, after all Maria seems less of a pro photojournalist that an girl who likes taking pictures.
Also we all know that Alphard killed Sham in order to claim Canaan as her own. Well Alphard has kept Liang Qi around for some time now if Liang Qi were truly hated Alphard would have gotten rid of her a long time ago…no this has more to do with harem building Maria gathers the girls Alphard comes by later and claims them all at once.
I seriously think that this is Alphard’s big plan. Maria’s journalist skills are absolutely abysmal. All she is is bait.
Alphard must be doing it because Maria forgot all about their intimate time together in Shibuya.

Well I get the bait part, but wondering about her true purpose. She’s suppose to live from what Alphard say, is Maria like the main carrier of the virus or the cure? Man I totally forgot about what Minorikawa and the editor were talking about Maria.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Maria has either the key to the vaccine from her dad, or some deadly version of the virus.
