It took a long time to create this poll.  I was inspired by Josh’s post with CCY’s video of Endless Eight driving Hitler into a frothing rage (from Downfall).  I love reading posts defending Endless Eight.  Even if there are snippets of super-important information or whatever inter-spliced into each iteration, I think it’s clear that this was an absolutely terrible misuse of resources.  Just like with the chronological scrambling of season 1, I look forward to seeing how the situation is handled in the DVD release.

About Kabitzin:
One of the founders of Sea Slugs, I handle most of the blog admin tasks while wearing my I AM BOSS shirt. I like my action series well-choreographed, and my romance series extra trashy. I also have a soft spot for puns.

I loved episode 0. you know, the one before it all started. The one where it never existed.

I think Seinime is talking about the first episode of Endless eight, the one where Kyon knew about the loop….Am I right?

It’s like a Choose Your Own Adventure where your first choice meant that every single one of your subsequent choices would lead to failure.

Naga-NO-NO-NO!!! You’re doing it all wrong! You were supposed to put a spoiler with ever-lasting “OOOoOooOOOOOOo”, but then of course your comment would be spammed like mine was =(

(btw, unfortunately, my Haruhi hat is permanently stuck to my head :( )

I think that two or three episodes (with the third episode having a resolution) would have been enough to do what they needed to do with this, and would have provided sufficient yukatas and speedos to satisfy the fanbase. How much more effective, and less frustrating, would it have been if they had just done an incremental loop of Nagato’s pronouncement of the loop number for a minute or so? There are so many other ways to underscore the lonely nature of her position, and the power of Haruhi’s regret, without wasting four episodes worth of screen time (thus far). I really wonder what they’re going to bundle with these episodes to get people to buy them.

LMAO at the Endless Eight Hilter link. Damned straight hoI w I felt about this. I can just barely tolerate Endless Eight… personally they should have resolved it on the 4th at the very least, but eight full episodes of hell? Only reason I keep watching is cos its Haruhi!

The good thing about these episodes were that all of them provided new additions and new developments to the story. each episode ended with a cliffhanger, and I couldn’t wait to see the next episode. Also, I don’t have a sarcastic personality or anything like that (sarcasm).

I think endless eight should be released as a single-episode DVD with “alternate angles”.

Well, I’ve gotten used to E8. I’ve finally developed an immunity mental block so I can watch the episodes back to back and still savor it….Only 1 or 2 more episodes like this to go? *Eyes go blank and begins foaming at the mouth*

I believe this is called Stockholm Syndrome.

Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in abducted hostages, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger or risk in which they have been placed.

      Hmmmm…
