Episode 11 is basically just a recap episode, although we do get a few tidbits of information. It looks like 4 years ago, before Lizzie was the Phantom-crushing, sniper-destroying bodyguard that she is today, Claudia’s little brother (I think) Romero McCunnen got killed in a gang war with Isaac Wisemel’s Bloodies. Claudia joined Inferno for a chance at revenge, although Isaac and Raymond don’t completely trust her yet.
Raymond’s confident because Isaac is his right hand man, and Isaac controls the Bloodies. Claudia, on the other hand, has no backing and the Scythe Master incident demonstrated that just having Phantom is not enough. 3 months later, there’s a short scene showing Scythe Master, and it looks like he was working with the Godo family all along to double-cross Claudia (who was trying to double-cross Inferno). Reiji is still alive, and after completing a solo job he is awarded the title of Phantom.
Reaction:
This was a pretty boring episode, although we did get to see the full scene where Lizzie shot Ellen in the baby-maker. It was absurd to have Lizzie apologize for being useless 4 years ago, but I guess it was necessary to trigger the extended flashback/recap. Now I understand why Claudia was trying to get backing from the Godo family without Inferno finding out, although it was odd that Scythe Master ended up working with the Godo family instead.
Although we didn’t get any confirmation, I’m now sure that Ellen is still alive and probably pretending to be somebody’s genki girlfriend at a random Japanese mall. She probably went and flirted with some lonely med student to get treatment, and is just waiting for the right time to make her triumphant return.
