Ultimate Makeover: Hidden Village Edition
The restoration of Konoha is going nicely, thanks to Tenzo’s haxxor woodshop skills, the help of carpenters (like Inari and Tazuna) from nearby villages, and the fact that all these elite ninjas have nothing better to do. Unfortunately, this brings up the subject of Sasuke not being part of the team anymore. After meeting with Pain, Naruto really has a good handle on the concepts of emo and revenge, and he thinks he’ll be able to understand Sasuke a lot better the next time they meet.

Unfortunately, it soon comes out that Sasuke has finally been classified as a missing nin, and can be terminated on sight. Sai tries to find more out, but can’t overplay his hand too much. I think Danzo might suspect something’s up, especially in how Sai seemed to be worried that Danzo is going to try something to stab Naruto in the back. Naturally, Danzo has already taken some precautions.

Anyway, the order to take down Sasuke was a result of Samui’s team’s visit to Konoha. Omoi and Karui end up getting in a tussle with Sai, Naruto, and Sakura, and Omoi informs Naruto that Sasuke joined Akatsuki and attacked their master, Killer Bee. Will this endless cycle of emo and revenge never end?!

I can’t help but wonder if Sasuke knew that Killer Bee was pulling a tentacle trick on him that time. It seems silly to assume that Killer Bee’s tricks would fool the Sharingan when Sasuke could stand up against Itachi’s genjutsu. Sasuke really doesn’t care that much about Akatsuki’s support, and either way this sets up an easy return for Killer Bee. I just know that the Kumogakure will get Sasuke in a pinch and then Killer Bee will suddenly show up as Omoi cries tears of joy.
I wonder why Danzo would cooperate with the request. I thought he just got done telling everyone that helping other countries is for wimps. I also question his seal on Sai. How exactly would this prevent Sai from writing down the answers to questions? Or having someone from the Yamanaka clan read his mind? Overall, these were kinda boring chapters, but I like the buildup towards a big encounter with Sasuke. Furthermore, I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that Sakura was once again completely useless in the scuffle against the Kumogakure nin, even though the Kumogakure nin were outnumbered.

As for Sai’s seal, I agree that nothing really prevents Sai from letting out the info some other way, since there is no way that the seal prevents Sai from thinking about Danzo’s secrets. If the seal did that then Sai would be paralyzed most of the time lol.

Sai can just draw out a snake that would spell out Danzo’s information for him even if he can’t talk or write about it
Since the seal is on his tongue, it’s probably safe to assume that he’s only prevented from speaking about it.
Do you think it prevents you from gossiping about him? Or talking about him behind his back? How does the seal know if you are revealing real secrets or not?
The seal probably wouldn’t be able to tell, but that might a good thing for Danzo especially during a group meeting. Danzo would know that the guy who becomes paralyzed for no reason is either thinking about his secrets or silently cursing him lol.
