Hatsukoi Limited 04

Summary:

While Bessho Koyoi fantasizes about all the fun she’ll be having alone with her beloved onii-chan Yoshihiko when their father is away on a job transfer, romance is in the air. Ayumi’s brother Yuuji noticed how enamored Ayumi was about the lollipop she received, and he mistakenly thinks that Misao seduced Ayumi with the candy (not realizing that a terrified Mamoru gave Ayumi the lollipop to leave him alone). Yuuji assumes that lollipops are an incredible aphrodisiac, and to demonstrate he corners Misaki (while her hands are stuck holding a big stack of papers) and sticks it in her mouth.

Koyoi continues to pamper Yoshihiko, and is overjoyed that all of her friends think Yoshihiko is plain and useless. Unfortunately, a potential rival still pops up when Misaki calls Yoshihiko for a pseudo-date. Yoshihiko has a huge crush on Misaki, and when Koyoi tails her brother in disguise, she is completely intimidated by Misaki’s hot body. Fortunately for Koyoi, it turns out that Misaki has fallen in love with Yuuji and just wants some information about Yuuji from Yoshihiko.

Reaction:

How is it that Yoshihiko can complain about being late, while Koyoi can have time to cook and clean for him every morning? Is the high school that much further away? Anyway, this was an amusing episode, even though Koyoi isn’t really one of my favorite characters. I thought it was funny when Koyoi worried about her friends falling for Yoshihiko, and I am saddened that we won’t get a Koyoi vs. Misaki fight to the death.

The lure of lollipops was silly, and yet brilliant from a fanservice perspective. While Misaki falling for Yuuji was the goofiest setup thus far, I really like the complicated web of love that’s been established. I definitely feel bad for Yoshihiko (though siscons everywhere are probably jealous), since it’s obvious that Koyoi will sabotage him at every turn and Misaki views him as a wingman. It’s also ironic that after Ayumi talked that much trash about Yuuji, it took him about 5 seconds to ensnare the main bijin of the series. Lollipops are fearsome indeed.

About Kabitzin:
One of the founders of Sea Slugs, I handle most of the blog admin tasks while wearing my I AM BOSS shirt. I like my action series well-choreographed, and my romance series extra trashy. I also have a soft spot for puns.

Agreed with the lolipop’s powers. Girls just can’t seem to resist them in this show lol.

I couldn’t believe that Yuuji skipped most of the dialog choices and PUT IT IN. Given Misaki’s love of wrestling it makes sense that she prefers the direct approach, however, so it wasn’t much of a surprise that she fell for him… even if the whole thing was rather goofy, as you pointed out.

What I want to know is, why did Mamoru have a lollipop? Was he hoping to stick it into Misaki before Yuuji?!

CHARLIE BROWN REFERENCES!!! Funny, cause I’ve recently been checking out those boxsets they have for the comic strips.

and maybe I should check out this anime. Seems stinky kinky-desu! :3

No sakura petal coughing alas. I really wonder what her late mother would say if she could respond to Koyoi’s prayers.

I think it’s kinda interesting that in a series with such a large cast they keep hammering home how hot like lava Misaki is. It’s great though when you can get an inkling of the heavy drama (I would assume is) to come, so early in the series.

Yoshihiko was on duty that day so he had to get to school early, while Koyoi could just go at a normal time.

And it really seems like Misaki, despite being ridiculously hot, just doesn’t realize exactly what kind of effect she has on everyone. Is she that dense?

If the “and your little friend” bit from episode two is any indication, oh, she knows.

She’s gotta know. She wore a “So Cute” shirt in the first episode she appeared in.

I almost forgot about this anime. I started watching it because the art reminded me of Ichigo 100%. After doing some research I guess it was done by the same people. Wished they finish Ichigo 100% though…damn it.

I heard this was also 12 episodes…or something.

I was about to be the voice of dissent and say something nasty about Misaki, but then I realized it makes such a pleasant change not to have everyone say MMMMMIIIIIOOOOOOOOO all at once again =P Well, as long as she doesn’t take the yuri route *shrugs*
