This sums up the K-ON! in one word
I finally caught up on this show.
- This show needs to be taken to task on the fact that it has both the laziest and crappiest animation this season. It’s criminally bad, in spite of all the shortcuts taken. The BS 4:3 aspect is actually welcome, the art and animation are so terrible. We’re only at the start of the season, too.
- Through the first three episodes, the pacing is poor and you can just tell the show is filler, 4-koma joke, filler, 4-koma joke.
- I felt like Mio was the only thing getting me through each episode. Yui drove me crazy, in a bad way.
- Overall, this show feels like someone turned a mediocre, mildly amusing slice of life 4-koma into a boring, ugly anime. I find the studio’s lack of effort appalling.

About Kabitzin: One of the founders of Sea Slugs, I handle most of the blog admin tasks while wearing my I AM BOSS shirt. I like my action series well-choreographed, and my romance series extra trashy. I also have a soft spot for puns. |

I was wondering how it felt to others, because they’re doing like.. a chapter of the 4koma per episode, which means that there’s so much dead space to fill. And I actually feel like the jokes were done better in the 4koma than in the anime. Especially the third episode, which I was kinda surprised they managed to drag out into one episode. I figured they’d have to at least pull from the next chapter or something.
This show drags more than an episode of Naruto or a character in Shangri-la.
Even in the ED, watch the characters… they don’t blink. It’s just static shots with moving mouths. I even had to use the sharpen filter on this ED cap (that I think someone just used a Gaussian blur on). LAZY.
That’s actually supposed to be a joke in my opinion. The ED is in the style of a music video, and they’re so serious with the “serious mood” of the video that things like this occur, and I can’t take the video seriously as a result. It’s hilarious seeing Mio emote in front of the mike with everyone else listless in the background.
I don’t think Yui is stupid/retarded, just extremely scatterbrained, ADD style. :P
What ? You mean to say that K-On! has worse animation and pacing than that Mazinger crap ?
Worse than typical godawful “Shafted” quality of Natsu no Arashi ?
And at least K-On! is watchable, unlike something like Valkyria Chronicles, which made me roll my eyes about once every 30 seconds.
I haven’t seen Mazinger or Natsu no Arashi, but I would expect both to have very bad animation. I acknowledge that it is possible that both series have worse animation than K-ON! but that doesn’t really detract from my original point. I don’t see how you can accept K-ON! if Valkyria Chronicles makes you roll your eyes that much. I am not so much criticizing the K-ON! source material as the conversion.
Karry you can expect all you want, Shin Mazinger’s animation is quite good. No, not great, but if you’re watching for accurate mouth movements rather than giant robot battles, you have judgment issues that taint your opinions of other series’ animation. I still disagree with Kabitzin somewhat, on K-ON’s animation, but really let’s get our shit straight and pretend we’ve been watching anime longer than 2 days.
Awful as the art in Natsu no Arashi may be it’s background art is still better than anything in K-ON! I don’t entirely like Valkyria Chronicles’ animation either, but I can’t see any way K-ON! can be considered superior.
two words: retard moe
I don’t like that type of moe, but that’s not even the reason I dislike K-ON!
Dude, K-ON is suppose to be a relaxing 4koma slice of life kinda show just like Lucky Star. How can you expect the pace to be fast like the others? I doubt there’s any major plot in this one so if you don’t like it then drop it.
I never said the pace was bad because it was slow. I feel it is clearly dragged out pointlessly from the original 4-koma material (which I have not read). This may not be accurate, but I felt like a lot of cheap tricks were used to get the minimal amount of material to fill an entire episode. I was fully aware going in that this would likely be more slice-of-life than comedy.
And for the record, I liked Lucky Star (just not Lucky Channel).
I’m just laughing out loud. Bad animation LOLOLOL. Thanks Kabitzin.
I don’t think having a lot of blobby motion makes animation good.
So you think Kaiba is like, the worst animated thing ever right?
Meh. Animation quality is a matter of quality to me and not a way to indicate preference for aesthetics.
Now that I’ve seen the manga, I am convinced that the anime for K-ON! is totally a cheap, lazy hack job. It’s not even a matter of style.
And I never watched Kaiba so I can’t say.
Well, I can only agree with Kabitzin. The animation IS terrible, and if some other studio than KyoAni would deliver a mess like this, it would be written off and forgotten in no time. Sorry, but it really needs rabid fanboyism to ignore the technical deficiencies here.
Also like him, Mio is the only bit of saving grace which got me through the episodes. Lucky Star at least had Konata and Kagami. But K-On is ominously centered around Yui, who happens to be a walking toothache.
I’m not sure I’ll be able to stomach this.
We are on the same wavelength. I wouldn’t say the jokes or overall K-ON! material are terrible, but this is a crappy anime conversion. For me, this is exacerbated because I do not like Yui. I’ll probably drop the show rather than complain about it from week to week, and it doesn’t bother me that others enjoy the show. I see the appeal of having moe fangirls re-do Beck, but as Mentar says, many of the problems are technical in nature.
I wish the show was in 16:9 720p HD as well. But what does that have to do with animation quality?
The plot execution has actually been very good. It’s fun to see multiple archs come together into one narrative. Each scene has been purposeful too (plot development, character development, moe, etc).
I guess some people hate the most popular kid on the block just because he is the most popular.
You are assuming I am hating because of popularity, and this is false. I went in wanting to like the show, but I was disappointed at the execution.
My infatuation for Mio has led me to ignore the otherwise apparent flaws of this show, especially the QUALITY animation all round. Haven’t actually read the manga per se so no comments there, although it was quite apparent in the 2nd episode with Tsumugi and the instruments. I just go (゚⊿゚) everytime Yui appears on screen.
I think that’s fair and those that know a lot about the instruments would be justified in fanboying over the girls. The only character I really disliked was Yui, but I don’t usually like dojikko characters.
crap animation? Where? O_O If show doesn’t have ISO standard moe-faces and animation it doesn’t mean it’s crap
I don’t see how any viewers can ignore the constant use of horrible blobby artwork of the level typically reserved for trippy dream sequences.
I don’t see a problem here. Windy Tales had this, bunch of 80th anime had, and it was good. Moreover, I consider it’s pretty high level.
Hm. I’m not really an art purist, but I’ll have to admit the shortcomings in that and the animation keep catching even my eye here (the legs in particular keep bugging me). OTOH I find it only mildly distracting, and only a minor demerit – while the series could certainly benefit from better looks, given its subject matter this is not a critical issue. This kind of stuff is really about the characters, their interactions and the storytelling, after all.
And – with the caveat that I have a major soft spot for slice-of-life 4-komas – I find those decent enough. Yes, even Yui; as the dojikko-types go she seems to be from the tolerable end, chiefly thanks to a willingness to make genuine efforts at self-improvement once properly motivated.
But, eh. YMMV.
I have to mention that Yui’s ability reminds me of Kelly Bundy’s.
Which part of the guitar is the head?
hontou wa you are crazy.
The moe fags, formerly known as Haruhiist, AIR heads, Kanon fodder, Cracky Stars, or ClannAIDS fags, just don’t care. It’s KyoAni! It’s M-O-E! So they fap fap fap. Heck, let them fap. It’s the best they can do.
O_O OH EM GEE CHRIS!!!! **FAPFPFPAPFAPFAPFPAFPAFPAFPAPFAPFPAFPAFPAFPAPF**

Haruhi was way better than all that other shit. Just because they got a lot of the same fanboys doesn’t mean they’re at the same level of quality.
That’s probably because fraggle face Haruhi had eyes instead of front lights.
I got here via Google. “That’s probably because fraggle face Haruhi had eyes instead of front lights.” LMAO
Oh man! Its been awhile since I’ve disagreed with you (or perhaps this is the first time?). First, I would like to note that the quote above (which isn’t really a quote btw) is in no reference to you, Kabi-kun, but more of how I feel most haters of this show are. But we are not talking about the haters, so lets get at the subject at hand:
Actually, for a show like K-ON!, I think having this blobby animation fits right in (and yea, you’ll probably say “HA!!! OF COURSE, CRAPPY SHOW SHOULD HAVE CRAPPY BLOB ANIMATION!!! Thanks for clearing that up!”). From the first 3 episodes, we can conclude that K-ON is a light slice-of-life comedy (and moe), so therefore, I don’t see why they wouldn’t use this type of animation. I think people forget what animation is. (well, this is just my opinion) but I feel that in order to have good animation, you need motion. Sure, there are alot of scenes where the head/hands/eyes/legs are not consistent at all (for instance, that Yui running-to-school scene, and (forgot which blogger mentioned this) da-phat-ass-pinky-finger :3), but this is not bad animation, because this phat-ass-pinky and drunken-legs (I think Hinano mentioned the drunk legs
correct me if I’m wrong) are intentional.
Oh! but you might think: “WTH?! If they are purposely making it bad, then it IS bad animation!” and like you mentioned, it is most definitely a “shortcut”. Well then, explain to me if this is not a shortcut: “Two frames: Character with mouth open, Character with mouth closed. Repeat to lip-sync to voice actor. Cut, paste, repeat.” Hmm, I wonder what anime I’m referring to? Hows about, ALL ANIME IN EXISTENCE!!! And yea, I know you never said that the two-frame animation I mentioned above was a shortcut or not. I know that it looks like I’m putting words in your mouth (*BLUSH*… sorry, had to do it!), but it appears to me that people are regarding K-ON! as bad animation, when every other anime out there is worse than bad, if not, TERRIBLE ANIMATION!!! I would rather have this blobby animation than the static-two-frame-conversation. And for the most part, its not Japan’s fault, because their budgets are not as high as, say, an American cartoon. But in order to be convincing, or have good animation, how exactly are the Japanese supposed to do this with such low budgets? This is where the “shortcut” comes in. And lets be honest here, who wouldn’t want to use a shortcut? No, it doesn’t mean that the animators don’t give a crap about their project, it just means that they either A: have no choice, or B: trying to find a productive solution to their low-budget problem.
If you think about it, yea, out of most animation studios, KyoAni probably has one of the highest budgets out there, and this might be why you are angry: With KyoAni’s budget, they could have made the animation more consistent, but let me just remind you once again, and excuse me for doing this but: *bonks on Kabi-kun’s head* Knock knock Kabitzin! Whos there? Take a wild guess: KYOANI!!! YES!!! IT IS KYOANI: THEY CATER TO THE MOE CROWD!!! Let me just put that in quotes:
I mean, just look at the ad that accompanies this post! Well would you look at that? Its a MOE BLOB! Hmmm, blob? *connects the words* BLOBY ANIMATION?!?!? IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!?!?! Of course, moe-blob is a negative connotation, but viewers have to understand that, as evident in KyoAni’s more recent offerings, the blob animation is their style, and for the most part, a lot of moe-fans like it. Why would they have character designs and animation that resemble Death Note when they know that their animation style is what the fans want? Also in a business perspective, if it works, they’re gonna keep doing it!
Despite how bad/evil the business perspective sounded, I think the blob animation is a step in the right direction for the anime industry. Its a perfect example of what I think animation should be: motion. There is a popular saying in most of my drawing classes:
I am not saying that we should exaggerate life drawings, or exaggerate something that is supposed to be taken seriously, but I believe that the quote fits perfectly with animation. Excuse me if I’m wrong, but I get the feeling that you, and most people who are hating K-ON!, are taking this K-ON! blob-animation WAY TO SERIOUSLY when it should NOT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY (yea, of course, look at me, the hypocrite also taking this subject way too seriously). Again, this is no Death Note, so why should the animation be consistent? (well, yea, Death Note isn’t really consistent either, those youngsters with their notebooks that can kill people!
but its the only thing I can think of right now) Why should the animators draw in every wrinkle, have correct head ratio, have realistic hair when the show is supposed to be light-hearted? (hmm, thats another subject thats up for debate: exactly why the hell do anime characters have green/purple/other fruity-colored hair? I mean, theres no such thing as GREEN HAIR!!! OH YOTSUBA!!! YOU ARE A LIE!!! STOP BEING MY GRAVITAR!!!) Lets remind everyone that there are no certified gangstas in this show, its about four girls in a music club.
I think a good way to demonstrate this middle/high school girl figure is to make her inconsistent, because they are still growing up. Girls just wanna have fun right? (don’t worry, I won’t link to that music vid XD… even though its one of my fav songs…) These girls are SUPPOSED to be in motion! I don’t want to see a dead-serious Yui. I wanna see her being stupid, but still enjoying herself, because thats how (sexist comment) I see girls: they
ARE STUPIDshould be having fun (/sexist comment)! They text message! They get fat at McDonalds! For goodness sakes, what the hell should they be doing if its not having fun? And again, you never said that you wanted these girls to be serious, but with the animation that is present in this show, exactly what do you expect them to do? The answer: be inconsistent, but still have fun! (sexist comment again) Girls in high school should be cheery and bubbley, and what do you know? If my glasses aren’t lying to me (thanks Stevie Wonder), then I would say that the animation is *GASP* BUBBLE-Y!!! And yet you dislike K-ON! because of this bubble-y-ness, or as you say, lazyness? Why? Explain to me, for the type of show that K-ON! is, what type of animation you want from this series?Alot of people complained, and still complain, how stupid a show is when all they do is talk about how to eat a certain snack, and K-ON! is similar as they sometimes hang out doing nothing but conversate about a boring/stupid subject. The show is supposed to be that way, for it is none other than a slice-of-life show. Most who enjoy slice-of-life like this pacing, because it is relaxing, and, again, it is meant to be this way. It is not “lazy”, and it hellz-ain’t supposed to be really “crazy”, the pacing is supposed to be calm with the occasional excitement, and if you were expecting anything other than that, you are the “lazy” AND “crazy” one who did not realize this!
Animation is a mind-trick, where we unconsciously fill in the blanks so there can be motion. The animators find a way to best exhibit this animation through use of skill, tricks, and most importantly, their “style”.
Now before I finish, let me just say: I did not come here to show out, did not come here to impress you. Because to tell you the truth, when I leave here I’m GONE! And I don’t care WHAT you think about me – but just remember, when it hits the fan brother, whether it’s next year, ten years, twenty years from now, you’ll never be able to say that these brothers lied to you JACK!
Show ▼
Just because they have a valid excuse, doesn’t mean the animation is good. And you cannot convince me that the style is meant to be blobby.
I am not complaining about the 4-koma nature of the show. I am complaining about how it is clear they are trying to use the least number of panels in a single episode as possible, and in order to do so they are purposely dragging K-ON! moments out.
You are right that I cannot convince you that the blobby style is intentional, and it may appear that I am forcing you to accept this style, and for that, I am sorry.
but
Now that I further understand your complaint about the show, I can better discuss with you why you are wrong about your statement.
First, you have stated yourself that you have not read the manga, which I think automatically establishes the fact that you should NOT be complaining about the number of panels they use, especially when you cannot confirm it yourself, but lets disregard that. I will not use the fact that you did not read the manga against you. Instead, I will use the fact that I have, just recently, read some available manga chapters, so I can see if your statement is legit.
From the first chapter, I can tell you that they are definitely NOT dragging out the show/using the least amount of panels. They used almost all of the material in the first chapter for the first episode, and let us not forget that this is a 4-koma, so the amount of content they have is already very limited.
Perhaps this is what you meant by dragging out? One scene that was not included in the manga is when Yui is crossing the street, bumps into someone, and then irresistibly pets a dog that she sees on the other side of the street. Is this what you meant by dragging out, because to me it seems like the animators are including an enjoyable scene (enjoyable to me that is) of how much a ditz Yui is. How better to show Yui as an air-head/having ADD without this scene?
They also (in the manga) didn’t have that scene where Yui opens all the piggy banks she can and tried to collect her monies :3, and also where her sis comes in and she asks her for cash. Despite this not being in the manga, and might seem, in your definition, the “dragging out” scene, I don’t see how this exactly drags out? The scene is
MOOOOOOEEEEEmarvelous! It is one of the few occurrences that we see the bond between the two sisters, and can tell how different their personalities are. The animators are filling in the empty gaps of the 4-koma, which, again, may seem like its “dragging out”, but how is this dragging out when it is an enjoyable scene where we get to understand the situation a lot more? They are not dragging things out, they are ANIMATING what is happening in between. For instance, we only get one image of them taking the test. How are the animators gonna animate that? Are they going to just show one shot of testing, and then change scenes to the club room? NO! Because that pacing is too quick! They are going to animate how Yui is having trouble on the test, putting the pencil on her lips, and just being stupid, cause this further confirms how much of a ditz she is (she is the main focus, remember). Then, this will perfectly lead to the manga and anime scene where she has that dead face that literally says: “I failed the test!” This is not dragging out at all. Again, its filling in the gaps. Its animation! Its motion! They are trying to make things interesting!
The only true occurrence that they dragged out K-ON! ss during the job search (its not in the manga AT ALL), and perhaps this is the only time your statement is valid. The animators did not have to include all those still frames of “*click* *car passes* *click* *car passes*, etc”. In fact, in the manga, when Yui finds the guitar she wants, Mugi pretty much immediately hassles with the store clerk, and gets the guitar for the new low price. So without that car-job scene, are we to assume that Mugi just readily thought “Oh, you want that one? Okay sure!” I don’t care how rich she is, it is not realistic for, lets say, on the first day that me and Chris met, for me to deposit $159,000 to his pay-pal account! “Oh! You want me to deposit my life savings? Okay sure Chris! Let me just get my credit card!” OF COURSE NOT, FUCK NO!!! I HATE CHRIS!!! WHY WOULD I DO THAT??!? (/tsundere), but now that “The Chris and I” have established out friendship (LMAO), I would definitely help Chris out in his time of need (no, I’m not gonna give him money… I’m not rich). So, after the car-job-scene (*chuckle*) and especially after that part where Yui says something along the lines of, “You guys keep the money! I’ll just buy what I can with the money I have”, we can say that the bond between the members have grown, and when Mugi sees that Yui still wants that guitar, she helps her out by hassling her way to the low price. Now it makes sense that she did that. It’s not only because her dad owns the store, or cause shes rich, it’s because she can see that Yui wants that guitar, and with the best of her abilities, helps her out. Why? Because their bond is now STRONGER! The job scene helped establish that!
Are you telling me that they should cram as much manga as they can in one episode? Exactly then how would this be SLICE-OF-LIFE?!?! Last time I checked (thanks Stevie Wonder), I didn’t learn how to play the clarinet in 1 episode. I didn’t remember all the notes for piano in one episode either. But you might complain: “Well FUCK!!! They barely did anything with their instruments! THEY ARE DRAGGING OUT!”, but you see, in the manga, this is EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS! They do not start practicing until the next episode/chapter, and even then, they have fun at the beach before that. Do you know why? Lets say you join a band. Perhaps the most common thing is for everyone to start practicing. Tell me, exactly how is this interesting? Wouldn’t it be nice if we get to see the girls grow their bond, and also, see exactly what type of characters they are? You are not going to see how a person is by just watching them practice their instruments all the time. Am I supposed to think, “Oh man! That guy knows how to play the electric guitar! He must be a ROCKER!”, but instead, hes a quiet boy who does very well academically. This is why those “dragging out” scenes are important, because we get to see what type of character they are, and by the end of the series, see how much they have changed, this is SLICE-OF-LIFE!
The pacing is just fine as it is! If they were to add any more scenes, we would not have this relaxing pace that us slice-of-life-fappers love so much. You are trying to bash on K-ON! for something that it is not! *bonks on Kabi-kuns head* Knock knock! Whos there? A slice of bread! A slice of bread who? A SLICE-OF-LIFE-BREAD!!! HAHAHAHA???!?! What? Don’t tell me you didn’t get the joke? Oh! I know! I shall explain it to you, but, remember, the only reason I am explaining this to you is not because I’m dragging out this comment, it is so more viewers can understand the situation! You see, there is a quote of Jesus that goes along the lines of, “I am the bread of life”, and I am mentioning Jesus because *GASP* my online-name just happens to have the name “Jesus” in it! Now there is another saying that goes something like, “better than sliced bread/the best thing since sliced bread”, which I tried to make connections with “slice-of-life”, which is what K-ON! is! The joke that I’m trying to say is that, I, Jesus159159159 LOVE SLICE-OF-LIFE! BECAUSE IT’S THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD!!! OH, BUT THAT MIGHT MEAN THAT I’M SAYING SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN JESUS?!?! IT MAKES THE JOKE FUNNIER, DON’T YOU THINK?!?! HARHARHARHAHRHRHARHARHR!!!!
See, what I just did was drag out the explanation, something that Shaft likes to do, but this is NOT what K-ON! DID! So my advice to you is, read the manga if you’re gonna make a statement like that, because it is totally not fair. Its like me saying a blog’s content sucks, without reading their posts. Doesn’t that type of attitude just piss you off? Opps! Would you look at that? I forgot to close the em tag! I guess italics are the new CAPLOCK!

Since this is like the longest comment ever, I read some manga chapters.
1. This anime is even uglier than I thought it was originally. The manga looks pretty cute and has nice clean art. The anime looks like the manga art got beaten repeatedly with the ugly stick. This is unacceptable, and I have an even more dismal view of the art than before.
2. They definitely drag everything out. For instance, Yui just goes to the mall, gets momentarily sidetracked, thinks about a many-limbed person, and scores the guitar for cheap. Although I thought Ritsu jamming on the counter was funny, all that stuff was extra fluff. They turned the short part about getting the guitar into a whole episode.
You yourself admit they are using very few manga scenes and adding plenty of filler. Maybe the filler works for you, but it doesn’t work for me. And to everyone else, this has nothing to do with slice-of-life or moe anything. I actually enjoyed the manga quite a bit. This is about anime execution.
Touche about the Icy comment, but reading the manga confirmed what I thought. It is bad when the disjointed pacing lets even those who have not read the source material know that you are adding less skillful fluff to the source material. It was not a seamless addition, and the fact that it was so easy to tell where the source material started and ended is a legitimate knock on the anime conversion.
Now that I have the longest spam comment, and more recently *hyuk*, the longest
e-penisI-swear-this-is-not-spam comment, I am proud to say that I have reached my 400th-comment-power-level, and who would have thought it would be about me arguing with Kabitzin? =3 (we’re like… *BLUSH* HUSBAND AND WIFE!!!-*gets shot*)I guess we both have different ways of interpreting dragging out. I find those extra scenes enjoyable, and even you thought the Ritsu-jamming-on-the-counter scene was fun too, but if you think this is such a disservice to the original source, then I guess thats that.
Its not that they are using very few manga scenes. Like I said before, its a 4-koma, so the source is already limited, but they are using as much as they can. In fact, I think its safe to say that they used perhaps around 95% of what is available in the manga.
In order to make this into an animation series, I think it was necessary to have this “filler”, or things would happen too quickly (and also cause they would run out of manga material, but then again, this statement probably supports your filler comment). To keep this short, I liked both the anime execution and the manga. They both have their good points.
[spoiler]looks like you added abit more “filler” to your comment (perhaps you wanted to post and edit later) so I shall do the same: I couldn’t help but chuckle abit when I saw this =3
Oh silly me! I forgot to add the spoiler tag!… I swear this time it was not intentional XD… and sure I can just fix it up cause i have like 2 mins before I won’t be able to edit the comment anymore, but now, it IS intentional… cause thats how I animate!

That was the one thing I noticed in terms of how KyoAni is adapting it, as the pacing seems off sometimes and the extra material added is a mixture of hit and miss. Which makes me wonder what would happen if SHAFT did an adaptation for it, like what they did with Hidamari Sketch, since the style of humor in that 4-koma what sort of what I saw with K-On.
This is far beyond TLDR. I refuse to read this.

Well I like K-On. Sorry guys, but seeing this anime makes me remember when I started playing the guitar. All this excitement, choosing and buying the guitar, sleeping with my guitar, my first chords, the first rehearsals… It’s all so true, and it makes me so nostalgic!
Concerning the “blobby animation”, I think the creators had to make a choice: if they want to have realistic motions when showing the girls playing their instruments, they had to smooth all the motions. The other solution would be the one in Nodame Cantabile, that is to say crappy CG. I think their choice is completely understandable, and even if it’s sometimes very strange, I find the motion very well done.
Whether or not you think KyoAni had good reason to cheap out on K-ON! is one thing, but I can’t see how anyone can deny that K-ON! practically has Crayon Shin Shin-level crappy animation.
I’m curious to see what the reaction of the Japanese fanbase is and if 2ch has gone berserk about the QUALITY animation. If so, maybe KyoAni will fire someone the way they chopped the first Lucky Star director.
No Kabitizin, it doesn’t.
K-ON has somewhat sketchy art, but the animation is significantly above average.
This is just people freaking out because a show sacrifices slavish adherence to the model sheets in exchange for better motion.
There are shows that do the opposite, have very tight designs and somewhat below average movement, a very few who excel at both, and then shows that fail at both.
The last category is “QUALITY”, the rest are not.
Wow, on one hand I
totallymarginally disagree about K-ON, on the other hand I stand in solidarity with someone who has gone against the masses. Oh wait, if I say that everyone will go back to thinking I hate just because something’s popular or made by Kyoto Animation. Forget it. I dunno what to say in general, I just don’t feel that strongly about K-ON one way or another. Considering current anime trends and blogosphere perspectives, I can see why other people do. But I don’t really care that much, and I wonder what can cause the sudden influx of rage from level-headed Kabitzin.Look at it this way… Maybe the cheap, stylized animation (which I think is a matter of subjective taste more than it is a matter of objective quality, but not completely) is just being used because the second half of Haruhi is really going to be new episodes.
Anyone who thinks K-ON or Mazinger have bad animation need to get their head examined.
¿K-on! bad animation?
¡OBJECTION!
Its just cute, relaxed animation. Lovely, if you ask me. And the pacing is great, its funny, cute and when Mio is involved, moe to the extreme. The OP and ED are great. The characters are great too. Specially Mio, queen of moe and Yui, the second Fuko. And we all know that Fuko is awesome. Dozo!
So, dont say that´s lazy, when its just crazy!
