Misaki and the animation quality both recover, and Misaki seems happy to be with Akira. It’s not clear how much Akira knows, but he is very cold towards Touya at Echoes; meanwhile, it seems like Tamaru is pissed about being humiliated at the festival and Touya’s dad is having a heart attack alone. Rina’s not doing so well either, as Eiji tells her she has been demoted to the tiny Calma Club on Christmas Eve. The Sakura-dan has been owning Rina on prime time TV, so Eiji is going to shake things up by having Yuki sing at the arena. Rina agrees to Eiji’s little game as long as she can hire Touya as her manager/groupie.
Rina decides that her Calma Club concert will be broadcast at the arena, setting up a 3-way battle. Rina’s unsettled by the 46,701 that Eiji says she needs to win (doesn’t quite match what President Itsuki Kanzaki calculated, unless Yuki only has to sell 1,802 seats), but she still goes out of her way to encourage Yuki at the rookie’s first choreography rehearsal. Later that night, Rina is surprised to find a ripped up letter from Yuki to Touya. Yayoi accidentally ripped up the wrong letter (instead of ex-Manager Hiragi’s) after another call from Hiragi-san on her way to some comfort-kissing with Touya, and Rina despairs that it’s too late for Yuki.
Reaction:
What an interesting episode! So it looks like Yuki was writing to encourage Touya to wait for her and see her at the big concert. I suspect that Rina really has been a true friend (damn, Crusader was right), and she thinks Yayoi has succeeded in destroying Yuki’s relationship. It’s ironic that Yayoi actually didn’t rip the letter up on purpose this time, and yet she was still planning to make out with Touya before delivering it. I wonder what Hiragi-san has on Yayoi that would make her tremble so, especially since all he ever does is fap on the phone while making Yayoi listen to him breathing heavily.
Touya’s explanation that many random women come into his life every day and become his goddess of the day was enraging, but perhaps it was to show why Touya can’t handle being away from Yuki. She was his “every day” and perhaps that means “every day goddess.” This would dovetail nicely with how Touya explained that Rina’s fans worship Rina, but it’s hard to take Touya seriously after all he’s done. I guess he can’t handle Yuki being everyone else’s goddess. It’s hilarious that Touya’s conditions for hire were one day to work at Echoes and one day to sleep work at Mana’s place. Maybe he’s practicing for his mission to seduce and destroy the loli members of Sakura-dan, since that seems to be the style of all of Eiji’s managers.
