Summary:
Touya takes such a long shower that Yuki falls asleep. As Touya heads out, he’s greeted by Yayoi who gives him a crash course on paparazzi. In a flashback straight out of Kurenai, Yayoi recounts how she couldn’t protect Rina from getting caught in a scandal where Rina got photographed buying cigarettes for a producer. Yayoi was removed as Rina’s manager and the Ogata siblings became guarded and cold to protect themselves. Yayoi wants Touya to break up with Yuki, and offers him money, food, and even her body as a breakup fee.
Touya stays strong since Yayoi isn’t a good/interested kisser, and yet he refuses to take Yuki’s calls. Yuki wants to apologize for leaving Touya high and dry the other night, and has Haruka deliver an encoded message. Haruka then has the awkward task of translating the pager code to tell Touya that Yuki will be hot and ready tonight. Touya gets sidetracked, however, by Misaki’s theater disaster. It seems that Misaki pissed off one of the theater guys and they are punishing her by forcing her to make all the props and costumes herself.
Reaction:
While Crusader crows about Yayoi’s bizarre decision to be Touya’s new girl-toy, I’ve figured out her brilliant plan. In true Gossip Girl fashion, Yayoi is going to keep going out with Touya in public and molesting him so that there is photo/video evidence to present to Yuki. Then once Yuki dumps Touya, Yayoi can collect her reward from Eiji (it’s probably hidden in Frank’s broom closet/secret room). I know I’m in denial, but I enjoyed Yayoi’s multi-pronged attack. The best part about the date was how Yayoi was so uninterested in what she was doing, although Yayoi’s horrible driving took a close second. I also noticed that Yayoi does not sleep—she waits.
The plot with Misaki was pretty humorous as well. It must have been a crazy breakup or something, that Tamaru would chain-smoke all of Rina’s cigarettes and put the ash tray right in front of Misaki. This is also the first time I can remember the slow clap leading to a bad ending. Hopefully Misaki doesn’t ask Touya to bring Yuki in to help make the costumes, because we all saw what happened last time Yuki made costumes… It will be incredible if Touya passes up sex with Yuki in order to go sew theater costumes, but maybe he can sew up something slinky for Yuki while he’s down there.

theory: You know how some parents push their children to win child beauty pageants so hard? This is because they’re using their own children to fulfill their failed childhood desires.
A think Yayoi was an idol once. A failed idol.Think about it, she has beauty and presence.
Maybe it was the paparazzi. Maybe it was bad management. Maybe it was an actual scandal.
That’s why she takes things so personal now.
Maybe it was a bad boyfriend…

To Loligoth_Powered: that is a good speculation. I can see that and the possible “death/bad” route that may occur.
For now, I’ll sit back and see the mess unfold. Touya might comfort Misaki instead of having sex and soon, Haruka might explain why she’s been “stalking” him , and later, Yayoi proves her “innocence” to Yuki that it was Touya who came onto her.
Whatever happens, it won’t be pretty especially if Yuki designs the costumes. Not much Rina here, but her phone call gave off a slightly uneasy vibe. I’m not saying she’s out to get him. I’m just thinking it’s foreshadowing Touya’s IOU from the IRS, stating that until he’s laid, he won’t be paid.
Face it comrade Yayoi is a goner, she can’t even save herself…
At this point I’m half expecting Yayoi to reveal that she is a robot sent from the future to stop Touya from spreading his seed.

THIS EPI WAS LEGIT!!! I liked the part where shes like “What are your plans for tonight?” “SLEEP! *runs away*”. I guess I can respect Touya in that matter, cause hell naw, I wouldn’t be sleeping if an older oka-san

“Oh yea, go to the orientation for me!”, and also “Take this telegram to Touya, you got nothin’ better ta do, right?” and when Haruka was all like, “I’m going to go for a dip (?) in the gym, WANNA COME WITH?”, Touya is like “NAAWWW CHILL B! F*ck outta ma face/grow sum tits, then we’ll talk!”

Back to the Yayoi Fap Factor, she reminds me alot of Saitou from Rurouni Kenshin… just the face that is. I also noticed something interesting about how she read the time on her watch, she did it macho-style, like she was about to pew-pew in a Mega Man fashion. Later in the episode, you see Misaki do it in the more feminine fashion. Tiny details like that just make me appreciate this anime more… or maybe that wasn’t really intentional? L:
And one last thing, I liked how Touya and Haruka were passing notes/notebooks in class. It was like, how people used to text message back then yo! Boy, times sure do change =D

I snickered, then I felt bad, but then I snickered some more. Poor Haruka.
Don’t forget that Yayoi was willing to pay Touya to sleep with her, so you have to admit he was strong enough to resist the slippery slope… for now.
I wrote up a long-assed and long-winded analysis of ep5 on Animesuki, and since so many people seem to have such a different reading on so many things, I’ll post a shameless link here. My take on it
I agree with most of your observations, although I just assumed that Yayoi was driving a company car. I want to know what’s going on in that secret room, but it is probably something boring and lame.
What Yayoi did in this episode reminds me of what Shibasaki would’ve done all for the sake of her “mission”.
I can only wonder what the “Misaki route” has in store for all of us. She and Touya seem to be kindred spirits, they’re actually perfect for each other.
