Tower of Druaga: Sword of Uruk 02

Summary:

Fatina is against climbing again, but Jil steals a trick from his brother’s book and says, “We need you Fatina, because this season would be boring without your fanservice.” It works, of course, but Kai may have loosened Fatina up with a poke from the buttspoon. Before they can leave for the Dingle Ladder (which takes you right to the Shrine of Iron), Uragon stops by for one last warm-up. While Uru fights with a broom, Oro uses a sloppy ice spell to take out most of the soldiers.

Hapless druid customer Henaro gets dragged along for the ride, but her support spells and crowd control prove to be very useful. She also ends up fronting the money for Jil’s new shield, and the party is able to hold off Uragon’s forces until Ethana can secretly unlock the gates to the Dingle Ladder. As the meganekko sniper watches from afar, the party takes the Ladder up and Fatina makes Jil promise to protect her.

Reaction:

What’s with the mage telling the tank to protect her? Watch your aggro, n00b! I’m also not sure what to think about Utu’s new axe. The glow effect is cool, but I don’t think it was wise to spend all that prize money on it. Surely they’ll find a better item while climbing to the Mythical Tower! I guess Utu was just embarrassed about how little DPS he did last season and didn’t want to wait to be useful. I loved how Fatina assumes Jil only wants her for her magical DPS, but the preview makes it look like Jil wants Melt to join, too. Poor Fatina, she really is just the fanservice in the party.

It’s hilarious that Uragon cannot override the controls on the Dingle Ladder or stop it from ascending, but not as hilarious as Lady Amina bathing fanservice. No wonder the captain of the Golden Knights is feeling rebellious! I also really like the many running gags in this series. Once more Jil ended up equipping a random wooden stick, Kelb failed to recognize Utu without his mask, and Jil had a dream while being carried out of battle. As for Kai’s buttspoon, I now understand how King Gilgamesh was able to defeat Druaga.

    I hope the series will continue to be light-hearted. It’s what it does the best.

    This episode also suggests another theory how the black plague might have spread:
    Mouse->soup->spoon->butt.
