That evil guy has been watching too much Saw lately and has rigged a rental car/shikabane that traps stupid teens and forces them to kill one another to escape. This desire to live results in a higher than usual number of shikabane being produced, and the evil guy stores the blood of the victims in that red cube. Keisei can’t investigate because his dad got word from Honda that Keisei spilled the beans to Ouri. Instead, Sougi Takamasa (who became a tensai CP at 19) and his shikabane hime Yamagami Itsuki masquerade as a PE teacher and transfer student respectively to keep an eye on Ouri.
Itsuki tricks Ouri into taking the shikabane-SUV for a spin and Makina goes along for a ride. Makina shoots up the car, but in the confusion Ouri gets stranded near the evil guy. The red robed evil guy introduces himself as a traitorous monk who wants to destroy the shikabane hime. Furthermore, he can see Ouri’s black cat and scare her off with his red cube. Before things can get too serious, though, Itsuki busts in with some gun-kata and Takamasa backs her up.
Reaction:
Once again, the blue Popsicle of anime returns! I wonder how Keisei is going to return to action, and it was interesting how they wouldn’t let Todoroki Kamika into battle since she is the strongest shikabane hime (and because her VA also plays the black cat). I noticed that Makina does not seem well informed, as she didn’t seem to know that Keisei became a CP because of her or recognize Itsuki.
Now we know that the shikabane hime help out the monks because their contract lets them into heaven if they can defeat 108 shikabane. I suspect this is a scam and most shikabane hime do not last that long, but who knows. Maybe you even get a free cell phone upgrade when you finish. I like learning about the mysterious undercurrent between that evil guy and the Kougan Cult, and we didn’t even get a real monster-of-the-week (unless you count that shikabane-SUV).
