Yozakura Quartet 12 (Final)

Summary:

Hime smacks Enjin around a little, but before Akina can tune Enjin, Enjin uses his most powerful attack on Akina. Incredibly, Akina falls for the Gin impression yet again, and gets sucker punched in the belly for his trouble. Enjin then goes off to beat up the elders, but Hime gets there before Yae can one-shot Enjin. Elsewhere, they almost forgot about Kotoha, but before Shinozuka can molest Kotoha, Touka and Kyousuke save her by throwing a small car with great fuel economy at Shinozuka.

For some reason, Enjin now has a scythe and uses it to cut Hime’s scarf in half (throwing off her balance, and yes I’m serious). Hime is tired of this crap and uses Final Stance, Great Flower Fire, which is also the Dragon Pulse, which is also the Dragon Lance Inverted Scales. Basically, this sends several spokes of rainbow light through the town to blow away the petals and knock Enjin off the roof. Akina tunes Enjin, and the town is saved. Shinozuka wakes up in the hospital under Juri’s care and starts thinking about calling his personal injury lawyer, and Akina fixes Hime’s scarf.

Reaction:

This episode was almost too terrible for words. Why did Enjin suddenly have a scythe? Why couldn’t Shidou give Ao and Akina a ride? Watching Akina and Ao run across town made absolutely no sense. In the end, the uber-geckos did way more damage to the town than the petals did. The final horrible conclusion was that the petals made the roads kinda slippery and they had to be cleaned up like fall leaves. Wow, that Enjin is just such an evil villain.

Very little of the fighting made any sense either. I guess Enjin should have kept Gin’s Satori powers a little longer, because then he would have known to preempt Hime’s rainbow attack. Good thing they tuned Enjin, because it’s not like he can just come back again like he did last time and possess someone’s body… oh wait. I guess I am really just bitter that all the kitty/siscon rubbing in the OP was a lie.
