Birdy the Mighty Decode 13 (Final)

Summary:

The council plans to blast the host with the Astral Eragon, which will destroy 47% of Earth’s land, but Rairaro conveniently mentions to Birdy that in the third transformation phase Ryunka will transform into a Vandeilo spore. During this time, the spore can be transferred to another life form and if the new life form is disabled/killed, then the Ryunka can be captured. Having watched plenty of Dragon Ball Z, Birdy sets off on a suicide mission while Tsutomu does the same.

The Ryunka seeks only the silence of the universe, but Sayaka continues to fight for control. Finally Tsutomu asks the Ryunka to transfer into his body; he then french kisses Sayaka so hard that he is able to fish the spore out with his tongue. This allows Birdy to end Tsutomu’s life so that Nejula can capture the spore. Capella’s request for the spore is turned down (and nets her a court date), Sayaka forgets the last three months and moves to a different school, and Tsutomu’s body is sent back to the shop and he is stuck in Birdy’s body again.

Reaction:

Ah, all the clone sailors turned out to be marionettes. I should have known that Shymalan would turn to bishies after goth-lolis failed him. I guess Christella will be the next villain, but I don’t think I can deal with another season of Birdy and Tsutomu. Everything sure worked out conveniently at the end, considering how boring and jumbled the middle section was.

I guess the Ryunka can make phantom clones of itself, and that weird thing we saw last time was a kage bunshin of the Ryunka’s main body. During the fight, I found it interesting that Birdy’s ship made dolphin noises while flying. So much for Tsutomu’s love, considering he just let Sayaka move away and didn’t even try to get with her. Young love is intense but fickle!

About Kabitzin:
One of the founders of Sea Slugs, I handle most of the blog admin tasks while wearing my I AM BOSS shirt. I like my action series well-choreographed, and my romance series extra trashy. I also have a soft spot for puns.
