There’s a bad storm outside, and Daitetsu is soaked. Daitetsu had forgotten his keys and police dragged him to the station for looking like a burglar. While watching Jin and Nagi interact, he notices that the two seem uncomfortably close, and he suspects they are having an illicit love affair. However, Daitetsu then overhears Nagi scolding Jin and begins to think that Nagi is an evil woman taking advantage of Jin. Things get even weirder when Daitetsu finds the planning sketches for the statue that Jin carved in the first episode. Daitetsu figures that Nagi was simply the model, but he reveals that he actually stole the sacred wood that he gave to Jin.
The construction workers were going to burn the wood, but Daitetsu wanted to fuel Jin’s art passion. When Nagi finds out about Daitetsu’s thievery, she is very angry, because the fire would have been a purifying ceremony. Nagi then proceeds to scare Daitetsu, telling him he has been cursed. As Daitetsu runs out in the storm to repent, he finds Nagi but she is different from before. It is the return of mature Nagi, but afterwards Nagi faints and can’t remember a thing. At school, everyone is confused that Daitetsu and Nagi seem to be fighting over Jin’s affections.
Reaction:
I guess Daitetsu just really wanted to give Jin wood *snicker*. I wonder what would have happened if Daitetsu did not steal the wood, and mature Nagi (henceforth “Magi”) told Daitetsu not to feel remorse. Is it possible that Nagi really does have a split personality? It’s not that surprising, considering that technically Zange is a sort of offshoot personality as well. It seems that Nagi’s fainting spell was similar to what happened after Nagi ate those kittens.
I enjoyed seeing more of Nagi, and it was hilarious when she said her acting covered up plot holes. Nagi and Jin’s home life was very amusing and I look forward to her battle with Daitetsu, even though I assume the misunderstanding will be cleared up soon. I thought it was strange how all of Daitetsu’s musings were framed with little cows. Also odd was the random green-haired girl who ran out of the men’s bathroom. Why was she in there?
