Summary:
The whole village is sealed off by cops, but Keisuke sneaks past the barricade with Tsutomu’s help. Keisuke is determined to find out the truth behind the explosions, and Natsumi wants to help. Meanwhile, Chairman Nakasugi and Shymalan pay a visit to the village as well. Shymalan is interested in exploring the effects that Ryunka had on the village and talks excitedly about how the Ryunka chooses special people.
While Birdy is investigating, she finds that Keisuke and Natsumi have been discovered by Shymalan’s goons. Birdy beats the goons up, but then gets jumped by the goth-loli marionette, Undine, that Shymalan keeps in his trunk for emergencies. It’s a tough fight, but Birdy isn’t junk. Undine is defeated by Birdy before being whisked away by the powerful Gomez. Shymalan tells Capella he can control Ryunka, and Gomez suggests that Capella is no longer necessary.
Reaction:
Finally, a decent episode. It was awesome how Shymalan found the baby in the wreckage and instantly adopted it, like he was Angelina Jolie or something. Undine did alright, even pulling out Birdy’s weave, but I was disappointed that Undine was not more powerful. Shymalan acted like the combat marionettes were even better than Ryunka, but I think we can consider that myth busted.
I was impressed that Keisuke and Natsumi instantly recognized Birdy, since usually people in anime series are dumb about disguises. Now that Gomez has informed Birdy that Ryunka lives amongst humans, perhaps she will begin to suspect Sayaka. It sure is handy for Shymalan to be able to observe all his evil projects in one place.
