The Demon God has come out of the bag and back into his own skin, although he suffers from an extreme case of skin stretchiness and droopiness as he tries to balance himself after sitting all this time. Kid and Black Star attempt to stop the Demon God, but a simple flick of a finger here and a snap of a skin flab there takes care of both of them as the Demon God decides to wrap all his excess skin around him like a tarp and blasts his way out of the holding tomb. Maka does her best to try to keep the Demon God from blasting out, but she fails epically.
Fortunately for Shibusen, Shinigami-sama broke out of Free’s holding box and tries with all his might to subdue the Demon God with an enormous choppu and various other huge techniques, but the Demon God manages to withstand the barrage and dish out his own moves, which busts up a portion of Shinigami-sama’s mask. Despite the fun he was seemingly having, the Demon God ends up teleporting away, saving Death City from undergoing any more raucous destruction. With Shibusen’s public enemy number one on the loose, Shinigami-sama sends Sid off to round up all the Death Scythes of the world in preparation for another Demon God encounter.
Well, at least this episode settles the fact that Shinigami-sama is all powerful as he shows off the real Shinigami-choppu and other epic moves in his arsenal, yet the Demon God (perhaps with the help of the Black Blood), was almost able to keep up step for step. Although Medusa seemed to have an anti-climatic ending as she’s basically thrown aside now with the Demon God as the likely main protagonist. However, with that snake slithering out of the sewers in the end of the episode, who really knows whether she’s dead or not.

oh i’m sure medusa will still have a role to play. the snake had quite a few vectors on its body as well. i think the real question is what (if anything) that last bite did to stein…
Guess we’ll see about the snake. Although Stein was caught off guard by the bite, he didn’t seem overly worried about it, but that’s another thing to watch for in the future.
