From some mysterious guy:
I am HIRING writers. You will be PAID to write at OH!. Why? Because then all my expectations are justified and beyond a desire to write, you have further incentive to meet deadlines and write kick ass articles.
Payment WILL NOT be in the form of cold hard cash however. It will come in the form of anime/Japan oriented swag. When, where, what, how, and how often any of this payment will be made will be discussed with my initial bloggers.
Oh snap! I saw the initial announcement over at SOS, but this is a chance for potential writers to get in on the ground floor. Er, anyone else with a team blog, we need to band together and stop our teammates from demanding payment for their articles…

Open pimp position?! Not too many details on Oi Hayaku!, but hopefully this isn’t vaporblog. Payment in goods brings back memories of Spice and Wolf.

I hope not too many memories of Spice & Wolf, considering it’s synonymous with “unrealized potential,” and I don’t believe that’s the image OH! is trying to project…
I’m takin the A-TRAIN THERE!!! =D… As much as I love swag, there seems to be alot of pressure to write good articles. And I HATE peer pressure annnddd i’m actually getting more into photoshop/painter because of college. I wonder if ma new skills is NOM NOM enough… y’knaw’wham’sayin’?
I like how the recruit page there says nothing about the content his/her bloggers put out, as long as it looks pretty.
I put in a comment there along the lines of ‘too much flamebait possibility, pass’.
As long as you can whore yourself…
All your writers are belong to admin.
Which makes me wonder how this is going to go down. It sounds like an interesting idea, but the execution will be the main thing here. I have to admit that there’s a wee bit o’ temptation in doing this (cause I always like a bit o’ swag). But with the lack of time I have, it’s not a smart move for me. Nor for DMAB. :3
There is a followup post here that answers some questions. Seems most of the mystery is for purposes of establishing intent.
