Zero no Tsukaima 3 11

Summary:
The plan to take Al Hambra is to have the girls dress up in skanky outfits and drug all 100 guards with Montmorency’s sleeping drug (in wine). Louise wants to help with the distracting seduction dance, but it’s easier said than done. While Kirche sways expertly, Louise just kinda spasms (while everyone mocks her), and Tifa awkwardly tips from side to side. Oh well, at least Montmorency is able to bounce to the beat. Louise also tries to go in stealth to seduce the lolicon Baron Miskouru, but hiding things in your bikini top doesn’t work when you are really flat and so her drug vial slips out.

Fortunately Tifa busts in to save Louise and it’s time to save Tabitha. Vidashal has his overpowered Counter spell ready to reflect all magic and physical attacks, but he never anticipated there being magic even more haxxor than Ancient magic. Louise casts a Void Dispel spell on Derflinger and Vidashal’s one-trick-pony days come to an end. Tabitha is saved from her emo self-pity, and Joseph doesn’t care because he wanted to use Jormungandr anyway.

Reaction:
While the episode was very predictable, the jokes were pretty funny this time. I really liked how the vial slipped out of Louise’s top, especially when she was so smug and determined. The dancing thing was funny too, although watching Tifa made my back hurt. Louise seems to have developed some real self-confidence in spite of her commoner status, and if Guiche had been any slower, Saito would have used Dispel on her clothing. I can’t believe that Louise’s excuse was “We were dancing!”

I liked how Agnes finally acknowledged that she wanted to kill Colbert-sensei, but realized that she would have gotten zero screentime without him. The final fight with Vidashal was funny too, as Vidashal threw a bunch of bricks at Saito and nearly killed Maricon and Guiche with a katamari. Finally, it makes me feel better to know that Tabitha isn’t an emotionless doll at all; in fact, when no one is around she swims freely in the pool of self-pity.

What the heck! We only got like a minute of Agnes angst! …and they wonder why their ratings are down!
