We first go back to the battle between Stein and Medusa inside the Vector Arrow arena. Maka’s dad harps on Stein a bit for not focusing since Medusa was running circles around them, and Stein hulks up to “insane mode” and goes out on a full blitz. Although Medusa lands a critical blow with her Vector Drill, Stein does his best Naruto impression by running through Medusa’s next fury of arrows to land his Soulforce. Although critically injured, Medusa tries to counter with a fatal arrow blow to Stein’s neck, but Stein pulls out another trick to paralyze Medusa’s nerves and stop the arrow. Unfortunately, Stein has to maintain full concentration to keep Medusa’s nerves in check, and any slip-up might cause him his life.
Back at the Demon God tomb, Elka and Free rush to the holding bag of the Demon God just as Death the Kid enters the tomb. Elka loads up a giant syringe with black blood and rushes to the bag while Death and Free duel it out, leaving Black Star as the final resort to stopping Elka. Elka tries to knock BS back with a tadpole bomb, but the blast radius was so big that it knocked the syringe out of her hands. BS quickly recovers and goes for the strike on the syringe, but Tadpole Jackson comes out of no where to throw it back to Elka. She goes to inject the Black Blood into the bag, but BS gathers his strength for one last strike, and he slices the syringe in half before she injects the blood. So much for the Demon God right? But wait, the underground rooms start trembling, and red lightning starts striking down out of Shibusen’s sky! Death the Kid then realizes that BS was under an illusion and managed to strike a statue instead of the syringe, so the Black Blood was indeed injected, and now the Demon God starts to crawl out of the bag which was made out of his own skin.
So it looks like all hell will break loose now that the Demon God is reincarnated, and in sort of creepy fashion, Stein was laughing and making it rain vector arrows after he slashes and delimbs Medusa, who was distracted by the Demon God events to give Stein the opening. The Shibusen kids fought valiently but came up short, and stopping the Demon God is probably way out of their hands. Looks like Shinigami-sama’ll have to step up to make another skin pouch again.

When I watched this episode, all I could think was that Medusa was smart to make the Black Blood type O negative. All that time as the school nurse really helped!
Tadpole Jackson was so amazing during this whole fight under the school. If he lives to be a frog, he’s going to be an awesome frog like the kind that Naruto summons. Speaking of which, it doesn’t seem like Eruka has really summoned any full-grown frogs yet (although she can change into one).
I suspect that Eruka is still young, so she hasn’t aged far enough yet to master any good frog techniques despite the fact that she can change into one. I had to groan a bit though when she use that technique which involved contorting her hands into a frog to get that syringe out though.
Hmm, I just wasn’t feelin the Crazy Stein. It seemed rather forced to me (and all this time I’ve been wanting him to go insane-mode). Still a good episode though.
I love the engrish saying of Tadpole Jackson. Has a nice ring to it =3 (I just realized that Tadpole Jackson sort of has that Blackface style to him… and that last name Jackson…hmmmm?)

On Stein, I think you have to realize that he probably hasn’t had to be in insane mode for a while, so he sort of had to force himself back into it, which is probably why it comes sort of forced.
I am sure it’s a pun, because just about every other character’s name is a pun (e.g. Blair, Ox Ford, etc.). Unfortunately, I could not find any information on who he is named after.
Perhaps Stein can’t go completely crazy like Maka or Chrona because he knows he is depending on Spirit to pull him back.
I am ALMOST positive that Tadpole Jackson is a reference to Michael Jackson during his prime!!! No doubt about it! /racism
…there is this band called the Tadpoles and a guitarist in that group named Andrew Jackson. Not sure if hes black though.

What about Tito Jackson? I am not sure if it’s a reference to the Jackson 5, but Tito would fit better than Michael.
