Summary:
So Colbert combined a boat with a sea plane to make the giant Ostland, named after the wintry lands to the east. Back when Colbert supposedly died, really Tabitha cast a spell to make it look like Colbert had flatlined. Later in the confusion, Kirche grabbed Colbert’s body out of the coffin and enjoyed the benefits of rigor mortis before whisking him away to Germania to commit life insurance fraud.
Louise wants to know what happened between Saito and Henrietta, but when Tifa hands Louise the Evening Star (a gift from Beatrice) the girls find that Saito spent last night fighting against Tabitha. Kirche clears up Tabitha’s situation, and we find that Tabitha is trudging back to the ruined palace in Gallia to accept punishment for her failure. However, instead of the Queen (taken away by soldiers that morning), Tabitha finds the elf Vidashal of Nephthys. Vidashal smartly cast Reflect on himself beforehand and easily owns Tabitha. Saito wants to storm off to save Tabitha, but Henrietta wants to gather more evidence and proceed cautiously.
Reaction:
Dang, that Elven Ancient Magic (or “Spiritual Power” as Vidashal calls it) is very useful against mages and lesbians. I’m starting to think that Tabitha isn’t as strong as she likes to think she is, because she keeps losing in all the one-on-one battles. I thought it was funny how Sylphid couldn’t get past the small entrance in the gate. Did she forget she is a flying dragon and can easily just fly over the castle wall (though to be fair she eventually figured it out)?
I guess we are supposed to be worried about Tabitha, but Joseph didn’t bother killing her before so she can certainly last a few more episodes. I love the Henrietta angst since I love all things soapy, but I think she’s just lonely and trying for a rebound guy right now. It was funny that Louise finally decides to trust in Saito, but really she has no choice because Henrietta could probably have Saito if she wants him, just like in that An Elegant Day of Count Butterfly book that Siesta had.
