As Kid races up to catch Elka and Free, he runs into a scattering of Elka’s tadpole bomb which are blocking the pathway. In typical Kid OCD fashion, he breaks down into tears since the bombs aren’t oriented in a symmetric fashion. But fortunately for him, Patty does her best sergeant impression and tells Kid to get his butt in gear and keep going, and Kid starts flying through the bombs as fast as the tears could fall off his face, but he can take comfort in the fact that Liz and Patty are and always will be supporting him.

Back in the battle arena, evil Maka continues with her grinning ways and drunken master scythe fighting style to push and pummel Chrona around. Meanwhile, Soul Eater is doing his best to keep things under control but feels like he is slowly losing his grip on Maka’s sanity as the black blood takes hold. Fortunately, sane Maka is floating somewhere in her conscious and manages to reach out and grab Chrona’s soul, which brings to an endless desert where chibi Chrona is having a talk with herself through her shadow inside her sand circle. The shadow asks a bunch of questions, but chibi Chrona is reluctant to answer in this rather sad self-dialogue.

But out of the sand clouds comes chibi Maka, who enters Chrona’s circle and shows her that she doesn’t have to be afraid of everything around her and sweeps away the sand circle. Back in the “real” world, Chrona goes into her strange convulsions with spikes protruding everywhere out of her body, and Soul Eater just manages to rescue Maka from the depths of insanity to put her back in control of her own body. Continuing where she had left off, Maka goes over to Chrona and offers to be her friend, and Chrona has no idea how to react except to cry, but she probably feels a sense of relief that there are people out there who aren’t out to get her. Plus, Maka give her the hug she needed

You had to feel bad watching chibi Chrona by herself, but hopefully things will be looking up for her from now on. It’s still unclear what has happened to Ragnorok from Maka’s psychotherapy, but we can probably guess that he’s not feeling too good about Chrona gaining some points in confidence. Maka’s dad also gets some kudos points from me as he total went nuts hearing about how Medusa was going to toss Chrona aside after reviving the Demon God, although this was probably a ploy by Stein to get Maka’s dad to hulk up a bit for the upcoming battle. And who would have thought that Mizune would turn out to be a hot half-naked girl I wonder since one of her parts got killed, does that mean that she just lost some of her height? Though I did find that finger snapping action before the Mizunes combined together to be sort of annoying…
