Summary:
Tsutomu misses the party because Birdy has to investigate the building from the first episode. Tsutomu sees his dropped flashlight and blood stain and begins to feel angsty like he’s dead. Meanwhile, Sayaka’s maid Yoshio-san feels that Sayaka is acting oddly. Sayaka used to like being alone in her light-colored dresses, far away from water (which scares her). Now, however, Sayaka wears dark clothing, eats viande, and has parties.
Tsutomu shows up at Sayaka’s house with flowers (Birdy’s idea), and Sayaka starts to come on to him. She is intrigued at how he understands her angst over feeling dead. Naturally Tsutomu recoils and falls into the pool. When Sayaka dives in to save him, Yoshio-san is convinced Sayaka is messed up. Later on, we see Sayaka go into a red-haze and strangle a parakeet. Naturally the parakeet is the robot Guardian of the mysterious agent from before. Wouldn’t you know it, but Sayaka is the vessel for the Ryunka and it won’t be long before the Ryunka is ready.
Reaction:
Well, I guess this makes more sense. I was wondering why no one ever talked to Sayaka in her head, but I figured she was just really boring. This makes the Ryunka even more mysterious. Is Sayaka going to explode and blow up the planet? And why does the other agent want to develop the Ryunka? Shymalan (who might be human) made it seem like Ryunka wasn’t as important as having a goth-loli maid. However, the changes in Sayaka from the Ryunka set up so many easy jokes. I am waiting for the scene where Sayaka starts headbanging and playing some mean guitar while Yoshio-san pleads with the grandfather, “Sayaka never used to be able to shred like that!”
Tsutomu kinda annoys me still. This isn’t like Shakugan no Shana. Tute died. Tsutomu never died. Tsutomu just got really awesome alien doctors who did some extreme surgery that you can’t get on Earth. Hell, Tsutomu didn’t even have to fork over a copay. The worst that happened to him was that he got a Tute-phone with bad service and he missed a party. Sayaka has way more to angst about, and she’s going to go nutso when she finds out she is a nuke (maybe).
