Summary:
In the future, all pets are required to have nanomachines, and this lets humans and animals communicate (although animals have limited vocabularies). The next case comes from a dog who looks like Dap, a character in an old show that Minamo liked. Dap’s owner, Ishio-san, has decided he wants to be a dog too, to be an equal partner with Dap. In other words, Ishio-san has Acquired Cyberbrain Unification Syndrome (ACUS).

Ishio-san is content to be in Dog-Metal. However, Dap thinks this idea sucks because he doesn’t have any thumbs and can’t really go to the store and buy himself food or anything. While Masamichi dives in to talk to Ishio, Minamo and Dap locate Ishio-san’s body. They remind Ishio-san that he needs to consider Dap’s feelings. Ishio-san wakes up, and Minamo wonders what it is like to have a cyberbrain.

Reaction:
The translation tool for dogs still sucks! It’s like those cheesy ones you can buy nowadays, where the translations are super-vague. They’re just as bad as horoscopes, where “Food” can mean “Stuff dog wants.” Anyway, I was amused by the Dog-Metal and how Ishio-san thought he could hack in and be a dog too. Doesn’t Ishio-san realize how much he would be inconveniencing Dap by giving up his superior thumb abilities and tall height? Stupid humans, you always gotta keep ‘em in line!

I’m still wondering what exactly Souta’s role is in Masamichi’s group. Everyone else helps out, but all Souta does is spy on his sister. Minamo busted out her Summer Olympics power again this episode, and I was on the edge of my seat when she tried to hurdle over the huge hedge (and failed). I was also wildly amused by Minamo’s frantic pushing of Masamichi’s wheelchair. Something about the wind through his ponytail made this inappropriate scene feel so right.

Souta doesn’t really work for Haru & Co Detective Agency. He works for Kushima at the XAT or SMS or whatever it is. Kushima uses Haru on dives, so it gives Souta an excuse to be a stick in the mud and try to keep his sister from having any fun.

LOL, XAT. I know Souta’s main job is as an EISF agent, but he demanded that Masamichi hire him part-time. Since Minamo is still working for Masamichi and Souta isn’t bringing it up anymore, I assume Souta got his way. So… what exactly is his job description?

I guess it is possible that Souta is simply “on call” should Masamichi need him to go bang the Secretary General do some negotiations.

Just like Haru hired Minamo mainly because he enjoys having her around, Souta was actually hired to Holon a favour because she enjoys beating the crap out of him. I’m sure. Almost. Perhaps. Well, it’s also possible he hired himself to do himself a favour.

I think that’s about right. Guess I forgot about him being hired. Maybe Minamo’s-fun-ruiner is his official title, Metal stud though he may be.

I think Souta is watching his sister due to an incident at the end of the 5th episode. After the whole Sous-Marin sunglasses thing, and the funny way he looked at Minamo as she was talking to Masamichi, it’s almost as if he suspects that she may be falling for the old man.

Is it just common brotherly concern for his little sister and who she chooses as a potential love interest.

Or does this go the Himitsu-the-Revelation route with latent siscon lurking underneath.

    You decide?
