Summary:
Tiffania hasn’t left her cottage since four years ago when her elfin mother was slaughtered for hiding the young half-elf. Fortunately, Tifa also turns out to be the bastard daughter of the archduke of Albion; this makes her Henrietta’s cousin. When everyone gets back to Tristan, Henrietta pesters Saito until he accepts the Chevalier promotion. In addition to noble status, Saito gets Siesta as his personal maid. Per Henrietta’s orders, Saito is also made the vice-captain of the Knights of Ondine (Guiche is the captain).

Along the way, Derflinger fills the viewers in on what happened during last season’s battle. As Saito was about to be hit by a volley of fireballs, Derflinger warped Saito’s unconscious body to Weston Woods, and Tifa used the jewel on her mom’s ring to bring Saito back to life. Although the magic consumed the jewel, Saito was restored. Elsewhere, Joseph opens the Pioneer’s Music Box which plays music that other void users can hear. It seems he is the king of Gallia and he’s heading off to the same intercontinental conference that Henrietta is attending…

Reaction:
Well, so much for class conflict. As great as the cook staff is, Saito breaks for nobility as soon as Siesta is thrown in as a freebie. I was, however, impressed that he knew not to spend too much time talking to Tifa because he knew how it would make Louise feel. Could it be that their relationship is actually developing? And more importantly, if Derflinger can warp, why didn’t he warp Saito a few minutes earlier? Saito was just there to buy time, so there was no reason to stay after Henrietta’s ships escaped.

In addition to Gandalf the Shield of God (Saito) and Mioznitnirn the Brain of God (Sheffield), we now hear of Windalfr the Flute of God. I’m not sure that it is Tifa, though I guess we’ll find out soon enough. This episode was mostly a lot of people standing around and talking, but quite a few interesting details popped up. I noticed that Henrietta referred to Pioneer Brimir while knighting Saito and I wonder if that has anything to do with the music box.
