Summary:
Siesta ambushes the team on the road, and they let her tag along because no one else thought to bring any food. Siesta is on the offensive now that Saito is no longer a familiar, and Louise is feeling very insecure. Agnes has a little sparring session with Saito and we witness the wonders of muscle memory while Louise angsts some more about the re-summoning ritual. Things go from bad to worse, however, when the group finally finds Tiffania, and both Siesta and Louise are intimidated by Tiffania’s bust revolution.
As Siesta and Louise are out in the woods scheming against Tiffania, Sheffield gets word from Joseph that the second Void user is in the area. Sheffield brings out her army of lint wolves and sets the wolves to strip stun. Louise has no idea what Sheffield is talking about and instead starts up the re-summoning ritual. Fortunately, Saito comes out again and Sheffield decides to retreat after marking the you can’t summon the same familiar twice myth as busted. Saito and Louise seal the contract with a kiss, and with a rush of painful electricity Saito’s runes return.
Reaction:
The return of the Gandalfr runes really reminded me of how you get pins and needles after cutting off your blood-flow/magic-runes for too long. I think it’s hilarious how Sheffield has to fly around on her manta ray doing errands for Joseph. I can just see Joseph telling Sheffield to make sure to pick him up the latest figurines. None of this, however, can compare to the cringe-worthiness of watching Saito bark for Louise.
I was glad to see Agnes used properly this episode, and in short bursts her character is very likable. The scenes with Tiffania were mostly pointless, although the fuzzy fog-of-war censored scenes really stood out. Louise annoys the heck out of me most of the time, but I enjoyed the scene where she notes that she never did talk about the time Saito aggroed an entire army and then got battle-rezzed by the elf. Silly mages and their pew pew never think about others (until they get zerged by lint wolves and need someone to tank for them).

I don’t see what’s so hard about summoning the same familiar again. Does Louise have trouble looking through her spell book and finding the icon?
one more crazy gaming reference and I would have exploded in lolz.
i actually got bored with this epiosde. the predictability and redundancy drove me insane. and the introduction of joseph and sheffield were so uneventful for me that i really didn’t really strike me as all mysterious.
