Ryusuke takes his forces to protect the Ibaraki Prefectural Exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art. Although the MCF is sure to strike, Ibaraki’s Chief Librarian Sugawara has set up a bunch of strange hippy-pacifist rules without Commander Inamine’s knowledge. Even worse, the defense force at Ibaraki base is really crappy, and so half of Ryusuke’s forces has to be set aside to powerlevel the n00bs.
Over on the female side, the women of the affairs department bully the few females in the defense department. Thanks to Atsushi’s warm embrace and support, Iku is able to turn the other cheek until one day the affairs department calls in Iku’s mom. Atsushi quickly calls in Iku’s dad to diffuse the situation and everyone in the Kasahara family makes up. With that taken care of, Iku decides to put an end to all the cattiness by threatening to report that the affairs department has been obstructing the defense mission.
Reaction:
When the going gets tough, the tough tattle to their bosses. While we did not get to see Iku go on a teashop date, this episode was still great. I was quickly pacified by the overt mention of Asako’s growing crush on Hikaru, and Atsushi was his usual reliable self. The cattiness was also completely awesome, although when I saw that mean note on bunny stationary I immediately suspected usagijen.
Iku always seems to do a pretty good job in spite of her crying fits, and this time was no exception. I know Iku was just dying to crack some skulls, but “in Girl World all the fighting [has] to be sneaky.” I was giggling at how Nonomiya Shizuka and her roommate Inoue-san suddenly got all tough at the end, but you know the affairs department will get revenge as soon as Iku leaves.
