I Graph With Text

This doesn’t have anything to do with anime, but apparently you can use the Google Charts API to embed charts in your posts. I know this is just what you have all been waiting for.

I wonder if someone will make a plugin to make this process even easier on WP blogs, because that would rock.

That’s pretty neat, but it lacks the charm of the graphs made with Paint.

While I agree with your statement, this type of chart can be updated on the fly from within WP.

That is what I am looking for…

I was playing around with the charts API just recently and was thinking about using them to chart series popularity in Anime Nano. But alas, I’m too lazy to actually implement anything!

Hung, the other problem is apparently there is a cap to how many times your graph can be viewed. I think it’s like 50,000 so until that cap is changed, I’m not sure that Charts is ready for high-traffic blogs.

some friends and I made a site that totally revolved around the charts API but never launched it… maybe a WP plugin is a better choice.

Hung, the PHP/Flash chart stuff here might be a good choice, they’re easy to implement and since they’re not externally hosted, there’s no googly limit nonsense.

    thanks for this post. :)

I’d usually capture the graph, save it as a photo and embed it in one of my posts somewhere.

    Thanks again.

Oops, there was a caption, but since I used some copypasta, it was an alt attribute instead of a title attribute (in other words, wouldn’t show up in Firefox on mouseover).

I usually do the same screenshot process with my graphs, but with this API you can insert the graph and modify it if you need to.
