Bamboo Blade 24

Summary:

Everyone starts getting emo and skipping out on kendo practice, leaving the boys and the Sa-girls to pick up the pieces. Kirino wants to take the fall by resigning, but Sayako refuses to make out with her until she comes up with a better plan. Tamaki gets a flat tire, and Yuuji is able to catch up to her and explain the importance of shounen training. Finally, Satori tracks down Miyako and explains that Americans are fat and lazy. Miyako realizes that if she practices every day, she will surely catch up to fat, lazy Carrie in no time.

At first Tamaki tries to get Kenzaburo to teach her the Jodan stance, but Kenzaburo mentions that Toraji actually has a better Jodan. Toraji gives a quick flashback about working hard and winning like a shounen hero, and Tamaki decides to rejoin the club and get her cute doll back. Fortunately, everything is kosher because moments before Toyama and Iwasa handed in their resignations. Now, the club is not responsible for those two losers, and Dan and Miyako get a chance to make up since they now have something in common (rivals).

Reaction:

Damn, Tamaki and Miyako are mentally weak and clearly do not understand the concept of powering up. With enough montages, anyone can be super-powerful. Sometimes you don’t even need to practice, and if you bide your time you just mysteriously get better after a few episodes. Just look at Dan, who can now exploit his short stature to get torso hits on everyone. Ok not everyone, but Satori is supposed to be good, and Toyama was rumored to be strong before he took several months off to do nothing.

The encounter between Sayako and Kirino was heartwarming, although I was somewhat corrupted from reading the alternate version of the story. I wonder what Kirino’s awesome plan turned out to be. Also… how did Yuuji get home with a busted bike? Anyway, I’m glad that emo portion is over because Tamaki was on her way to being a total NEET with the way things were going.

    It’s not an alternate version; it’s the true version! :D

    I stand by Zyl’s version as well. A man can dream. ;_;

    My favorite part of the episode was seeing Satori calling Miyako out. I was like “DAMN GIRL!” because she spoke the truth. It was fun seeing the role reversal in that case. :P
