Summary:
Rin starts drawing closer to Tamaki when she sees that Tamaki has a clock that is just like the timer in a riveting Blade Braver episode. The two of them get into uber-nerdy arguments and end up spending all night watching old episodes of Blade Braver. Tamaki loves the Bravers because they never lose and they stand for justice, but Rin thinks that this view is superficial.
Ozawa doesn’t employ women, so girly-guy Fujimara-san has to play the part of the new mysterious SHINAIgirl. Since Rin has memorized all of SHINAIgirl’s parts, she is the perfect replacement when Fujimara-san gets injured, and Tamaki takes Rin’s old part as a random extra. The two end up doing some silly improvisations, but a strong rivalry begins to develop. From the sound of things, Rin will continue her fight against Tamaki in the Kanto Tournament, and Carrie will get a chance to take Miyako down again as well.
Reaction:
This Rin arc has been awesome so far, and there were a lot of really great moments that balanced out the revelation that Fujimara-san is the guy inside all those sentai chick costumes. Rin really seized her opportunity this episode, and she’s like that third-string quarterback who memorizes the playbook and is ready to take over when the starter and the backup go down with injuries. Ozawa-san scared me, however, with his eagerness to sub in for every female role in the Blade Braver movie.
I enjoyed Rin and Tamaki arguing over Blade Braver, and some of those episodes were really hilarious. The logical reasoning over which wire to cut was totally awesome, as was the strange man-crush that Red Braver has on SHINAIder. Too bad Tamaki is definitely going to lose to Rin at the Kanto tournament with all the talk about how Tamaki needs to learn from losing to a girl her own age (and how Rin is only one year older than Tamaki). Other interesting moments include Satori pedaling the Miyamobile, and Kirino making dolls.

I wanna watch Blade Braver now …
If they made a Braver OVA, I would totally watch it.
If the Braver show was as hilarious as that clip with the clock monster, I would watch it too.
