When the episode ended, I also had my doubts about Raigomaru, actually.
I never thought it was Noe though, but I can't remember what I actually thought. /sucks/

But, after some thinking, one possibility could be that as Noe said, Shinichirou's way is not with her, so I believe that Raigomaru won't fly in the end, so as to be with Jibeta...who I thought was Hiromi, I guess. He'll realize he can do better staying with Jibeta instead of flying like a rooster isn't supposed to. Being dishonest, maybe?

But that doesn't fit well with some descriptions of the story...but, after what happened with Hiromi, Raigomaru (Shini?) didn't feel like flying that day...so what is it that he wants? Because, (and I'm talking for the hope I have that there will be a Hiromi/Shini ending) if he stays with Jibeta(Hiromi?), as he is unconciously thinking by not making it fly, aren't those his real feelings? And he is flying in his own way, not as Noe wants, she could represent the sky.

Ah well, some episodes to end the doubts. =(

I'm boggled about Hiromi's reasons for asking Shin to help her be friends with Noe and Noe's reasons for Noe's response to Hiromi.

Hiromi says Noe figured her out... but what exactly? Because it seems to me that Noe doesn't pay attention to romance until after Shin made her blush and run away.

Shin overhears Hiromi say she likes No.4 and is encouraged to think that Hiromi wanted to get close to No.4 through Noe. Noe had no idea about Hiromi thinking of Jun, which was one of the reasons for the cat fight. So what was Hiromi referring to about Noe figuring out?

It's a mystery to me how Hiromi feels about Shin. I think the ending of the series may prove how artistically the show has portrayed Hiromi's conflicted feelings... or maliciousness, depending on what her reasons were.

TBH, I'm not thinking too hard as to what could happen at the end, in fear of winding up disappointed. If nothing else, I'm glad there was some measure of proof that Shin and Hiromi aren't related after all, which made me feel a bit more comfortable with the setup as a whole.

Either way, this is still the highlight of the season for me - an absolute gem of a series if it can maintain this momentum.

Crusader: I don't know, I feel like some of Noe's weirdness might be a bit of denial about her ability to feel sad without sinking into a pit of depression. I'm not 100% sure, however, and I don't know if she'll be crying out of happiness or sadness. LOL @ bro-con hell.

TheBigN: It's sad that the non-named bald worker kid has more lines than Nakagami-otosan! The Nakagami patriarch is so mysterious!

Stripey: Interesting! I wonder if Jibeta will, er, catch some air and coast a bit. It would be a bit sad if Noe was more inspired by some chicken than by Shinichiro, though.

coffeebreak13: I'm only counting Ai out of the race for Shinichiro (not that she was really ever even in the race). However, I think she still can contribute to the story, and I really want to see how the Ai-Miyokichi thing works out.
