Jun swerves to avoid a bunny, and the bike crashes. Everyone is ok, and fortunately Shinichiro and Noe were stalking the basketball couple in a taxi. Noe is very happy that Jun is ok, but she is shocked when she sees Shinichiro embrace Hiromi tightly. When they get home, Shinichiro tries to confront his father about the affair, and Nakagami-otosan keeps the pimp hand strong by slapping Shinichiro for being dumb enough to believe the lies of a jealous woman. Nakagami-okasan tries to mend the fences with Hiromi, and Hiromi begins to act more normal at home.
Unfortunately, now the way is cleared for a Hiromi x Shinichiro ending, and Noe can see her chances slipping away. Shinichiro finds her kneeling at the spot where he confessed to her, and tells her about how the Raigomaru in the story is afraid to find out he is just a normal chicken. Noe encourages Shinichiro, but Jun’s probably going to have to find her a new guy soon. This is what happens when you don’t run over animals or get insurance on your motorcycle.
Reaction:
I am rooting for a Hiromi win, but this episode felt like a Pyrrhic victory. Sure Hiromi came out ahead because of the accident, but she’s been suspended from the basketball team (and so has Jun)! Anyway, I was right to suspect that the affair was a lie, but not very much was explained. Why did Nakagami-okasan hate Yuasa-okasan enough to trick Hiromi? I think Noe’s going to get dumped soon, and I can only hope that Shinichiro does it quickly to minimize the pain. You didn’t really think Noe was going to trump two childhood friends for Shinichiro’s love, did you?
I have to say that overall Hiromi was awesome this episode. After forcing Jun to take her out (extorting him by using Noe), she wrecked his bike and reveled in the warmth of the fire. Then, Hiromi ended up screwing over Noe anyway, and now the path to Shinichiro’s heart is clear. Poor Noe is going to be single, and her brother is going to be too busy working at his part-time job (to get a new bike) to spend any time with her. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hiromi paid that white rabbit off before she went to Jun’s place. It looks like Nakagami-okasan has trained Hiromi well…
On a completely different note, when are we going to meet the raging tanuki in the ED? Could he be the killer?!
