True Tears 02

Noe shows Shinichiro an empty vial around her neck and tells him that she is on a secret mission to get someone else’s tears (which will help her get her own tears back). In the meantime, she places a grave marker on the chicken coop (poor Jibeta), and starts stalking Shinichiro. Her explanation is that she likes looking up at Shinichiro, but now everyone thinks that Shinichiro is a major player. It doesn’t help that Noe is holding his seed in her hand.

Hiromi has a tense encounter with Noe at the chicken coop, and then later tells Shinichiro to introduce her to Noe. Shinichiro is enthusiastic about the plan, but Noe somehow realizes that Hiromi is lying; after all, their first meeting went poorly. Hiromi moves Raigomaru’s grave marker to a proper spot, and Noe later thanks Hiromi, but lets Hiromi know that the jig is up. Eventually Hiromi admits lying to Shinichiro, but she doesn’t tell him why.

This was a mysterious episode! My pet theory is still that Jibeta killed Raigomaru and hid him under the coop’s floorboards. While Noe doesn’t seem to be able to read roosters very well, she has some impressive people skills. It was so cold of her to shoot down Hiromi like that, but Hiromi took it in stride. It seems like Hiromi was really dependent on Shinichiro in the past, and in the flashback we see a young Hiromi crying for Shinichiro while wandering around with only one sandal. While Noe thinks that Shinichiro is her light at the end of the tunnel, I wonder what is prompting the change in Hiromi.

Flashing back can adversely affect your basketball game, and Hiromi and Tomoyo looked terrible out there! First off, Tomoyo was soooo slow in passing the ball to Hiromi that Player 10 was able to stop the two of them in their tracks. Secondly, Hiromi was able to get a quick first step and then inexplicably pulled up for a jumper. While the stroke looked good, that could have been an easy layup. Player 10 was way superior on both ends of the court (almost broke Hiromi’s ankles on the other end), and I hope we get a name for her soon. I was also curious why the girls team sits around doing nothing while only 4 players practice and why the girls pick up pressure at halfcourt when playing 2 on 2.

The crying, the falling over, pulling up for the jumper instead of taking it hard to the basket having the team regret paying her the max Hiromi is Vince Carter!

Haha, at least she’ll play hard when the recruiters come =D. The comparison would be more apt if Hiromi got “hurt” all the time with stuff like a broken nail or a split end.
