Shakugan no Shana Second 16

Pheles starts Kazumi on the crash course of self-pity that Yuuji took last season, and Kazumi is surprised that nobody remembers Konoe (guess no one told her about the origin of the “Shana-chan” nickname). Pheles’ gift to Kazumi (Giralda) summons Pheles at the cost of the summoner’s entire PoE, and cruelly reminds Kazumi that Kazumi is the best human for the job. In other human news, Satou is brooding as usual, and Tanaka is still totally freaked out about what happened to Ogata. Yuuji, however, decides to borrow the Blutsauger and watch Bamboo Blade.

Over at Seirei Den, the data that Hecate gathered while sealing the Reiji Maigo (and putting a transmitter on it) is enough to bring the Professor’s suit of armor to life. From the looks of things, we’re gearing up for a showdown as Balle Masque runs the new Silver through some six sigma QA and Yuuji gets stuck filing printouts of 2ch threads. Oh and by the way, Misaki City turns out to be a terrible place to live, as it is becoming the Maelstrom of Warfare, and housing prices are dropping.

Wow, this was a great episode that brought back all the emotional wrangling from the time that Yuuji found out he was a Mystes. Kazumi made the right decision by almost chucking that pathetic Hougu, because it was an insulting gift, and Pheles wasn’t exactly that useful in the previous battle. Can’t they just put Kazumi in charge of all the filing duties? That’s useful, and not even dangerous!

I loved how Shana said she was going to protect Yuuji and Yuuji immediately decided that it was time to learn how to defend himself because the Flame Hazes are so unreliable. I mean, hell, just about everyone was molesting Yuuji in that last battle, and at this point he’s more loaded up with crapware than a new budget PC. Oh yeah, Hecate is definitely going to have a moment of weakness at the end (from a malformed Konoe registry entry) that will allow Yuuji to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in the final few episodes.

I *always* knew that six sigma was a work of evil. Now, proof at last!

Definitely, a little bird told us that. And she basically blue-screened at the end of the first season and had that huge memory-POE dump that Alastor go into Super Admin mode to clean up.

Slowly, tenderly, Pheles took off Wilhelmina’s bonnet and leaned forward…

Tiamat: replace ‘took off’ with ‘removed’

I second (or third) that thought!

I was kinda surprised that Yuuji didnt ask Kazumi to tag along. It’s a bit too late for him to start ignoring her :|

Haha, the part where Yuuji and Shana ditched Kazumi was soooooo awkward. And then Kazumi just happened to end up at the training spot… What if Shana had been teaching Yuuji about efficient PoE transfer?!

Also, thesaurus/backseat author Tiamat must happen!
