Lawrence works with the Milone Company to investigate Zeiren, and discovers a tangled conspiracy to profit from the weakening silver coins by spreading rumors that the value of the coins was actually increasing. A shadow group of nobles is working with the Medioh Company, and both Lawrence and Marle Height of the Milone Company agree to work together to strike first. Lawrence is excited that his small share of the profits will be enough to finally fund an adult novelty store, because that is every peddler’s dream. Horo, however, doesn’t want to change to title of the show to “and Wolf” or find a new Spice, so she whips up a guilt trip about being lonely (mentioning Yueh, Inti, Poro, and Miyori).
After some heavy flirting, Horo suddenly remembers that she already watched the raws and knows that a bunch of hired thugs are coming to lynch Lawrence. Things look grim, so Horo decides they should split up, as she can hide her tail and ears for a day but Lawrence is the only one who can explain the situation at Duke Milone’s place. Lawrence does indeed make it to the safety of Duke Milone’s palace, but Horo is taken away. The Milone Company advises Lawrence that they can’t help him, but also that the Medioh Company would have known that Horo has no value as a hostage. In a mysterious location, we see that Horo has been de-cloaked, and is approached by a hooded figure whom she recognizes.
The economy stuff was much simpler this time, and this helped the pace considerably. I wasn’t able to figure out who ordered the abduction of Horo; could it have been Weiss or Zeiren? Horo was much more vulnerable this episode, and this is clearly the kind of moe that Lawrence likes best. I wonder if he was going to kiss her under the sheets, before the masked thugs ruined the mood.
Lawrence is definitely taking a big risk trusting the Milone Company with Horo’s secret. I can’t help but think he was getting a bit greedy with this scheme, and now he is in over his head. This is the complete opposite of the conservative advice he gave Chloe! I’m glad he at least agreed to fulfill his obligation to Horo, since it’s not like he can’t go build his shop after he escorts her home. It’ll be interesting if Lawrence can get Horo back with some clever scheming, or if he will have to resort to some deus ex triticum teleportation to save the day.

It seems like Horo recognized the person who walked into the room at the end, perhaps another wolf incarnation?
And damn, I wanted to see whether Horo was going to reciprocate, Lawrence was going for it!
I think Horo is going to be fine. If the church really does try to kill her, she can either turn into her wolf form on them or she can just come back to life in the grain that Lawrence is holding. I think.
Oh and Lawrence x Horo FTW.
I think I’m starting to like the Lawrence x Horo pairing.
That kiss was so close! …! So frustrating!
