Shakugan no Shana Second 14

Kazumi is feeling left out as the only human (haha she doesn’t even count Satou), but Shana is very supportive of Kazumi. Once everyone gathers, Marjorie is able to pinpoint a strange spell insignia entangled in the Reiji Maigo. We also get a flashback of how Pheles found an orphan with incredible game and raised him to be her boy toy. Johan emits some kind of crazy aphrodisiac, and Pheles is putty in his hands. Johan mentions to Pheles that he read this very convincing email about a way to please her all night long, and so Pheles helps change Johan from a human into a Mystes with never-ending stamina.

Back in the present, there is an incredibly cheesy scene where Pheles thanks everyone, but it turns out she was actually just using them. The gang was dealing with a fragment of Pheles’ consciousness, and now the real Pheles has located Johan and scouted out the situation. Pheles then tries to force the Reiji Maigo out of Yuuji, but suddenly a silver gauntleted hand reaches out of Yuuji’s stomach and cops a feel!

Two things immediately came to mind at the crazy ending. First, Chuck Norris would have been proud. Second, Yuuji would be incredible at Twister. I should not have underestimated Pheles’ programming skills, and she proved that her Ring of Wind is the Tomogara version of Fractional Cascading. Oh yeah, if it wasn’t obvious already, Konoe just has to be a piece of Hecate. Clearly this is a typical Tomogara trick, and they don’t even bother making their clones look different because the good guys are really that dumb.

The humans didn’t do very well this episode, as Tanaka has a really awkward run-in with Marjorie and everyone only pretends to be nice to Satou so they can hang out at his house. Shana doesn’t even bother competing with Kazumi anymore; Kazumi’s that little of a threat. I was surprised at how aggressive Johan was, but we all know that that relationship didn’t end too well.
