Bamboo Blade 13

Tamaki is so amazing that even Ogawa Mei and Satori are totally fired up. Satori starts feeling her competitive juices flowing, and challenges Tamaki to a practice match. While Satori is exceptionally talented, Tamaki is still too much for her and uses an array of feints and blocks to set Satori up. Like all the other girls, however, Satori is content to let Tamaki hit on her all day long.

Hayashi-sensei tells a story of how his parents tricked him with a guilt trip into sticking with kendo even though it was so hard. Because he ended up loving kendo, Hayashi-sensei decides to stay true to himself and remain an overly-strict teacher. This teaching method doesn’t show very great results since every one of his members loses, but to each his own. Hayashi-sensei salvages some pride by using his 7th-dan skills to kick the crap out of Toraji.

I could totally identify with the horror that is teaching newbies how to spar. Watching Miyako haphazardly stabbing everywhere and Mei smashing Tamaki’s unguarded forearm really spoke to me. Tamaki took it like Blade Braver would, though, and my admiration of her grows with each episode.

I also enjoyed watching Satori getting all fired up. She had some really slick moves, and it’s obvious she really wants back in. Poor Miyako, on the other hand, is really getting drained by Reimi. That yuri stalker was just a bundle of energy, even with all the blood loss. Will Dan be able to protect Miyako?!

Oh man, I got kicked in the groin during TKD sparring once and spoke with one octave higher for the next week or something. But then again I actually laughed at Tama-chan’s ‘..dai ..jou.. bu.. desu.. T_T’
