When the cavewoman says goodbye to the real Satori, Sayako and Kirino quickly pounce. Under the pretense of “just observing” they force Satori to battle her way out of the dojo. Satori is incredibly skilled, and Yuuji is so pumped that he requests a match as well. However, Satori feels she cannot join the club because she needs to concentrate on studying. While Satori studies very hard, she always makes stupid mistakes on tests, and as a result her grades vary wildly (from 100 down to 10).
However, everyone can see that Satori really loves Kendo, so she is dragged to observe the parctice match against Seimei High School. The Seimei team has a new master Hayashi-sensei is very strict. All of the freshmen girls are scared off, except for Nozomi and her shy friend, Mei. Mei doesn’t even like kendo, and only joined because her friends asked her to; as luck would have it, Nozomi quits the team right before the practice match, forcing Mei into the fourth slot.
Yuuji shouldn’t be so depressed; he had women all over him this episode. Sure Reimi was just trying to make Miyako jealous, but Satori seemed to be charmed (though maybe she just really loves kendo). In other news of possible (but improbable) romance, why did Yoshikawa-sensei show up to the match? My rational side says she was squirming because of how bad it sucks to kneel on hardwood, but there are other ways to interpret her body language.
Meanwhile, I loved Kirino+Sayako teamwork in forcing Satori into the club. They were gateway drugging her all along, and it was so awesome how they already had a personalized loincloth for her. I’m not yet sure what to think of Satori, because that girl seems like a clumsy fool. Also, what was up with Tamaki being all cheery at the end?
