It reminds me why I'm rooting for her over Shana. I can also identify with Ike. Years back I was supposed to propose in a ferris wheel ride but literally got cold feet from the height. Besides, being the planner/organizer is always a thankless task, especially if you aren't getting paid for it. It's not that he's trying too hard, it's that he's making it look like he's trying too hard. Being a side character is no excuse not to have mojo. Look at Tanaka; he can't even open his eyes enough to see what he's doing, and Ogata is all over him. Ike has that kind of weird, over-eager, desperate aura about him.
