Just as our heroes come into another city, Taitou is eager for more manjus, so he hits up the local manju store, which just happened to be robbed by several small kids, leaving Taitou to purchase their last manju. But just as he was about to bite into some manju goodness, Taitou gets bumped into by some shady looking characters known as the Housen brothers and drops his manju, which proceeds to get stepped on by each of the three brothers as they demand the manju-store owner for money or else they would break down her store. The Housen brothers take her money and leave the city, but not before taking down a mob of five who wanted to retrieve a bounty on the brothers’ heads.
Determined to get his manju, Taitou asks the owner for one more, but his money bag gets yoinked by a little thief in the process. Taitou and the gang track down the thief to a run-down abandoned house on the countryside where the thief, named Riei, looks after several abandoned orphans (who were involved in hijacking some manjus earlier in the episode). The gang decided to stay at the house for the evening and cook up a good meal for all the orphans, who seem to have big-head-itis. The next day, Riei goes back to down to steal some money, but he managed to steal from the Housen brothers who eventually track him down to the abandoned house. Luckily for him, Taitou, Ryukou, and Housei were still around as they dispatched of the brothers quite easily. Afterwards, they set off again towards the capital, but they leave some instruction and money for Riei and the orphans so that they can head to Rentsuji and be better off.
This episode was sort of a yawner, and nothing significant plot-wise is advanced here in this episode, although we do get to see Shimei at the end seemingly scheming for some evil later down the road. However, Taitou get the FAIL award in this episode for being caught in Riei’s traps so many times.

Kabitzin: Heh yeah, I was waiting for the AT&T logo to show up at any time after those kids lined up :P
Tj Han: I agree that these episodes have been sort of unspectacular so far, but I’m gonna continue and see if things pick up later down the road.
