While Chigusa tries to teach Shana to cook, Wilhelmina is assigned to Yuuji-training. Some kind of loophole with Hecate storing so much excess energy and returning it to Yuuji, has overclocked the Reiji Maigo, and so it has a higher Max PoE now (enough to rival any King of Guze). Nobody really cares about Yuuji’s new power, though, because they are too busy battling over food. Wilhelmina tries to teach herself how to cook the next day, and Shana and Kazumi force Yuuji to gorge on homemade bentos.
Suddenly, Shana and Yuuji find themselves trapped in another dream, but even though they know it is a dream, they can’t break out. A clown reveals herself as The Fool and Slumber Maina, Mare; GiggleBellHorns was merely a combat Mytes being controlled by the bell hougu, Papagena. Anyway, it seems that Shana, Yuuji, and Kazumi are trapped in Mare’s unrestricted spell (Gemeinde), and they must wake Kazumi in order to escape. It’s a fiendish plan, but unfortunately for Mare, the Reiji Maigo has some serious protection in the form of a Keeper, so when Mare touches it she gets burned badly. With that, Yuuji wakes Kazumi up, and they escape the crumbling Gemeinde. The next day, a Hecate-clone named Konoe Fumina joins their class as a transfer student.
It seems like the second season has a decent budget, and the dream battle sequence was very smooth between dream-Bel Peol and Shana. I winced every time Shana took a shot to the chest, and couldn’t help but think that a blow like that wouldn’t hurt any of the girls in Dragonaut. Meanwhile, the food battling has become pretty fierce between all the females, but at least Shana and Kazumi were able to compromise. However, the tensions between Chigusa and Wilhelmina will probably be coming to a head soon.
I was very amused at how the Serei-den had to be taken in for repairs, but overall Balle Masque has been much more tactical this season. Too bad Mare’s clever plan resulted in her being shat out and lit on fire. I don’t even want to know what Kazumi put in those sauce packets. I laughed when Kazumi opened her eyes to find herself tied up with Yuuji all up on her, and instantly realized that she was trapped in a wet dream. While everyone was getting all tied up in the kinky threesome dream, poor Marjorie was getting plastered because she’s still bitter that she did all the work last season and got no credit.
