GD01: Contest 01:
Well, the contests that I mentioned have begun. Contest 1 is a small one to whet the appetite, as the prize is just an SEO book (which is nice if you are interested in SEO). 12 copies will be given out, and it’s really easy to enter.
This one’s just to get everyone in the mood for later contests, and don’t worry, the prize list has been posted and it is good. I’ll keep updating this post as more contests go up, as I believe there may be 3 of them today.
GD01: Contest 02:
You can get a premium directory listing with SeekZap if you sign up via the link on the contest page before midnight EST. While not exciting, getting listed on directories is nice. I don’t know what the point of being a premium member is, though. They do have an anime section.

Well, by my watch, we have 25 minutes left for the first contest, and if they’re giving out 12 books and with 731 comments, that’s a book for every 61 comments. Not bad chances I guess.
Yup, second contest just went up, and there are lots of chances to win, even if the prize itself isn’t that exciting.
Yeah. I just noticed that SeekZap has like…0 entries, so they must have just started up. I guess this is a good way for them to get a lot of initial sites listed in their directory.
I wonder if this counts towards the $54,000 cause if it does, if my math is right, this is $25,000 of it (500 x $50…)
Edit: OK, this is just my day to be a moron (see my comment on the latest ProBlogging contest post to see how I was earlier). I guess I was just looking under the “animation” section and seeing few links. I guess their other sections have quite a few already.
Obviously there is going to be some “mark-up” on the value of what is being given away, but if you look at the prize list, quite a lot of it is cash/gift certificates. Also some of the stuff is really cool (like a designed logo, etc.) that people will want, especially if it is free.
I agree that SeekZap is a smallish directory (they have maybe 1,600 listings), and it was a good idea for them to fill out their ranks with this contest. Still, getting in an additional directory can be useful, and getting more visibility (I assume premium members get displayed more prominently) is a pretty cool prize as well, especially considering how easy it is to enter.
Of course the best prizes will be saved till the end, with maybe a few good ones sprinkled throughout the week.
True about it being useful. It’s one of those “hey, it can’t hurt” type thing. I was also eying the custom logo prizes lol.

I think you forgot to mention the last contest of this day Its not that cool, but its free (and I apparently won it!) I should of read the bottom text where it states:

(I blame it on Makoto) I can always give the Mederma Scar cream to my friend, since I have no battle scars. If only this cream could heal the scar in my heart ;_;

lmao, I happen to be one of those people who didn’t want it! I mean, I can’t even use it to mas….HAHAH CMON JESUS TRY TO KEEP IT PG HERE! (well, I think I can use it there since I have some scars… from… massaging it too much! XD!) err…what I meant to say was this is the response I got:
It is pretty exciting though. Its my first time winning something! When I get the prize, I’ll make sure to post a pic of me (only my hands) holding it and a sign that says: “I *heart* Kabi-kun”…you know, so you know I’m not lying or anything XD! I really did want the cash though…
Edit: And yea, don’t feel discouraged when theres over 159 million (or zero) people entering a contest! Just go for it!

Haha, that is awesome. Anyway, I’m glad one of our readers has won something, even if it is just some scar cream. It’d be really awesome if a reader won one of the big prizes!
Maybe you can sell the scar cream on ebay or something. It sells for $23.50 on Amazon (yeah, I looked up “scar cream”).
naw, I think I’ll keep it, since its my first time winning something! *sniff*! Thanks for taking the time to look up the price range for scar creams, but I’m not sure if we’re allowed to sell our prizes. In some contests, you can’t sell your prize for profit, but if we can, I might take it under consideration.
