7 Days Of Prizes

I don’t usually advertise for other people’s contests, but this one is quite worthwhile, and will definitely be of interest to anime bloggers out there. Anyway, since we are actually now on track to turn a small profit this year, I wanted to reinvest some of that money back into this blog, and I’m using this contest as a way to get some experience with giveaways. We have sponsored a $35 prize (I know, don’t spend it all at once or anything…) in the form of an Amazon gift certificate, and there are a ton of other available prizes that will be given out. I think they are at random too, so as long as you participate, you have a chance to win; moreover, no worries about egos being bruised. Finally, in addition to having a chance to win, you also get a link on a very big site (and one of my personal favorites). All this for something you would normally do anyway: write!

You heard me right - over $50,000 in cash and prizes have been donated by generous sponsors to this event and every cent of them will be going to ProBlogger readers in the coming 7 days. The prizes will be given out over a number of days through a variety of different competitions.

There are 115 sponsors (give or take a couple that we’re finalizing) - some are offering multiple prizes (one is offering something for up to 500 of you - which pushed up the prize pool value). Prizes range from getting theme songs composed for podcasts/videos (something I wouldn’t mind winning myself), to iPods, to logo designs, to magazine subscriptions, to books, to cash and vouchers and so much more. Prizes values range from just a few dollars in value to thousands of dollars.

Hells yeah, you know I want a Sea Slugs! OP/ED, and I want it with a choreographed dance!

There will be several rounds of competition, and some are as simple as just leaving a comment. Others will call for an original post about a certain topic (which could drive traffic back to your site). So why not enter and have a chance to win some of my money (or even better, some of somebody else’s money)? I’ll post more details as they come in. I’ll also be looking for any entries from other anime bloggers and will try to point them out as I find them.

This sounds…interesting. So, is this like a blog post writing competition or something? lol. Or do we know yet?

It is going to be a series of competitions, many of which will probably be along the lines of “write a post about X subject.” There will also be some smaller competitions that may not be as involved, but details will be revealed throughout the week.

The nice thing is that submissions aren’t judged in any way, so you don’t have to worry about conforming your writing to what a judge might like. It’s just a cool way to get exposure and possibly win a prize.

Ah, I see. Sounds cool. I’ve subscribed to their RSS anyway. Now I have to remember to check it, as I’m more of a “visit the webpage” person instead of a “look at the RSS feed” person.
