Kotonoha’s date with Makoto turns into a group date, as Hikari gives everyone else tickets as well. Hikari wants everyone to set her up with Taisuke, but he is too busy ogling Kotonoha. Kotonoha basically puts together an A+ date performance, and does everything right. Unfortunately, Makoto is completely uninterested in Kotonoha now, and only has eyes for Sekai.
After everyone else gets dropped off, Kotonoha is so pleased with herself that she invites Makoto on a second date. Makoto is non-committal, however, as he is already thinking of how he can bone Sekai. He takes a late train back to Sekai’s house, and as the rain pours down, Makoto starts laying down game surprisingly hard. Sekai puts up some weak defenses, but she is so mixed up and ends up sleeping with Makoto in her room.
Although the episode starts off with some stereotypical lingerie and bathing suit fanservice, things really ramped up towards the end. At this point, I have to agree that Makoto is a bad person. His complete lack of feelings for Kotonoha is one thing, but his ability to continue to slap her in the face emotionally is painful to watch. However, with that being said, he is a fantastic character. Everyone always complains about these wimpy-ass harem leads who can’t decide anything or do anything, and I think Makoto could be my very favorite harem lead villain. I cannot help but watch excitedly as I see a monstrous villain being built up before my eyes. This is how someone becomes the type of boyfriend that cheats on all his girlfriends and has no qualms about hurting others. I am very impressed at how Makoto is able to tell Sekai he loves her and then question if she’s good in bed while he goes to grab her butt and/or move his hands along her bra strap. It’s like Makoto is not even human, and has no morals at all. The thought that a villain could have a happy ending in a romantic series is making my heart flutter like Sekai’s as I lurk in the shadows.
This episode did have some light touches as well. Taisuke was a great addition to the pool trip, and his jiggling crotch made me cringe and laugh at the same time. I hope Hikari’s attempt at luring Taisuke turns out well, but seeing how badly Taisuke wants Kotonoha, I can see a trainwreck situation where Kotonoha sleeps with Taisuke to get Makoto back (but really this would just hurt Hikari, and not Makoto). I really liked the plan that Kotonoha came up with for the date, and she was a really cool girlfriend this episode. Too bad it was all for naught.

Intresting take on Makoto, but I see him as more stupid ass dumb then “Heheh I get to sleep with all these girls! Exactly as PLANNED!” Heh I’m still rooting for the ending where he gets stabed in the gut.

I have to agree; Makoto is the typical wimpy harem lead, just minus the punching into the sky and plus the extra dose of horndog.
He’s not smart enough to really be manipulative. In the end, he’s just indecisive and wishy washy, and that’s why it’s all going to blow up in his face.
Wait! Is that really one of the endings???!!! If so, I’m really hoping for it too! XD It’d be cool if Taisuke left the finishing blow: “THIS LOVE MANUEL IS WORTHLESS!!! *stabs Makoto*”
Swimsuit episode so early! YEAH! I liked the part where Makoto says to Hikari, “WHAT? YOU LIKE ME TOO??!!!” when shes asking him to invite Taisuke. Its funny how clueless the guys are in this episode (and probably throughout the whole series). I agree, Taisukes a great touch to the epi (especially his jiggler! lol). Now, when are they gonna hit on the loli?

I can’t believe how Makoto just openly felt Sekai’s bum in public and said “I think I need more practice!” (you know she liked it though) I understand if he doesn’t like Kotonoha, he shouldn’t force himself, but basically, he doesn’t want her anymore cause he knows he could score easy with Sekai! Ah man, this guy could get some virgin “kitty” if he’d just be patient! (cmon, Sekai’s obviously not “pure”! Just look at her work uniform! I’m pretty sure its for serving to a different type of customer!)

I disagree, Makoto’s definitely gonna turn into a great villain! I mean, hes already got the wife-beater-mode down (from epi one where he slams Sekai against the fence on the school roof).
I think of Makoto as a villain, but not because he is skillful at manipulation. Obviously he is not. But as Jesus159159159 points out, he already has zero respect for women, and only cares about getting off.
Taisuke finishing off Makoto would be perfect too, because Makoto is a bad friend!

If you had paid better attention you’d have noticed that Sekai was a virgin before her encounter with Makoto just like Kotonoha. She’s simply much more outgoing whereas Kotonoha is painfully shy to such an extend that I’d suggest her to talk to a psychologist.
I never quite understood the motivation for such hypocrisy when guys appreciate the easy going girls that don’t mind showing a bit skin and the label them as whores. I guess it’s simply that most males are “sluts” by nature and they simply hate being reminded of that by such girls. Either that or chauvinistic powerplay.

I’m pretty sure I’m using UTF-8. I use Firefox, so you just need to click on View, Character Encoding, and then Unicode (UTF-8)…right?
