I like to go back and read these little season previews and see how right I was. Anyway, I usually just do a quickie list and a short initial impression; please visit some of the other better crafted lists, like the one that Impz put together or the amazing collection of sprites that Aroduc gathered. As usual, my impressions are based on the art on the splash page and character profile page combined with the small PR plot summaries.
I have 3 shows that will soon be exiting my blogging lineup (ZnT2, Claymore, and Kaze no Stigma), so I will probably pick up 2 immediately and perhaps one after a few episodes. The tilda seems to be popular in This Upcoming Season ~The Fall Season 2007~.
Talk To Me
Dragonaut ~ The Resonance: Fantastic artwork, plenty of characters to cheer for, and a goofy name. What more could you ask for? A lot of famous voice actors? Ok, done. World peace? Sorry, only one request per visit.
Rental Magica: So will the sequel be Leased Magica? The art looks absolutely fantastic on the promotional images, and the hero has a criminally ugly eyepatch! The idea of various magical types possibly competing makes me wonder if this can settle some age old disputes (like if ninjas or pirates better).
Gundam 00: I want to try blogging a current mecha (especially a Gundam) series from the beginning, so that I can have like 2 billion comments on the first and last entries. I am however, wary that it will be more than 26 episodes, and thus represent a huge commitment.
Shakugan no Shana II: This one comes with a feeling of obligation. I was not that big a fan of Shana herself, and I worry that Marjorie will get her screen time cut like Kirche did in ZnT2. However, the lure of those wacky -tan clips and the easy parody points will probably keep me going.
Talk Me Into It
ef -a tale of memories: Normally I would say no to this very standard adaptation, but the art so strongly resembles that of OtoBoku that I will give the series a chance.
BLUE DROP~Tenshitachi no Gikyoku~: The concept of aliens scouting the Earth and coming to love humans could be epic, but I probably won’t blog the series.
BAMBOO BLADE: If the art doesn’t plummet into badly animated stock footage, I will definitely give this series a chance. I have never seen a Kendo sports anime before, and am intrigued. However, I am already annoyed by Kojirou and I haven’t even met him yet.
Goshuushousama Ninomiya-kun: Two girls take care of a chibi-guy. I’d say no, but with so few details available, it’s hard to deny this series outright.
Moyasimon: Every time I see this title, I think Moyism. It will be interesting if these bacteria cause people to buy lots of anime goods. I might watch a few episodes to see if there is anything beyond the quirky hook.
Prism Ark: This is a great example of a series that has great promotional art and will hook me into watching a few episodes in hope that a reasonable plot will develop.
Myself; Yourself: The use of the semicolon has me very interested, so I will probably give this a chance. However, the very standard plot description turns me off, and I may be tired of romance series by then.
Jyushin Enbu -Heros Tales-: The decision to go with dashes instead of tildas is an interesting one. I will likely give this a chance, because of the FMA art style, though.
Genshiken 2: I didn’t really find this portion of the manga as interesting. I will probably still watch it, but I will almost definitely not pick it up as one of my series to blog.
Talk To The Hand
GHOST HOUND: It looks ok, and there aren’t too many details out, but I have found that these trippy-scary shows often get rather boring midway through the season.
Minami-ke/Minami-ke ~Okawari~: Looks to be the mind-numbing slice of life type that Ender so dearly loves. Art looks good, but I’ll probably pass on this one.
CLANNAD: I have never watched Air or Kanon because the art style just drives me away. Yeah, I really am that shallow. It sounds good though, and I bet many will love this series.
Da Capo II: No, for pretty much the same reasons as CLANNAD.
Mokke: Not much information, but I see the words “slice of life” and my brain turns off. Then I forward the link to Ender instead.
Shugo Chara: Building a series on moe is like building a dish around salt. Just as you probably wouldn’t eat a fried block of salt, I won’t watch a series built on moe.
Sketchbook ~full color’s~: Doo doo doo, slice of life *forwards to Ender*. Looks like Ender is going to be marathoning into the wee hours of the night this season.
Night Wizard: This one sounds like a mediocre shounen game adaptation, and I’m not thrilled by the character designs.
Suteki Tantei Labyrinth: Shouta with butler and detective skills… Sorry, I’m busy tonight.
Maple Story : I never played the game, and these anime types generally have a low success rate. If the art was cuter, I could make a joke about this being an MMMoeRPG.
Kodomo no Jikan: While there may be a sick suspenseful pleasure in wondering if the jailbait will succeed in seducing her teacher, I will probably miss out on this series.
Kimikiss pure rouge: Everyone knows that rouges are overpowdered.
