School Days 03

Makoto calls Kotonoha, but gets her little sister Kokoro instead. He wants to come over to Kotonoha’s house to ogle her little sister, but Kotonoha seems despondent about something. Makoto wonders if she is mad that he hugged her on the train earlier, but eventually finds out that she is pissed he keeps calling her by her surname. Thanks to Kokoro’s intervention, Makoto realizes the error of his ways, and Kotonoha is happy because now it feels like they are really dating.

Meanwhile, with the Festival coming up, love rumors are flying. Sekai’s friend Kuroda Hikari spied on Makoto, and thought he was cheating on Sekai. Kanroji Nanami also wondered if they were going out, and Setsuna visits Sekai at work to ask about Sekai’s relationship with Makoto. Meanwhile, Otome has begun to bully Kotonoha, and it’s clear that Otome’s friends are trying to hook Otome up with Makoto.

For the most part, this was a slice-of-life episode, and not too much happened. While Makoto getting closer to Kotonoha was sweet on the surface, it has to be noted that he already calls Sekai by her first name. Moreover, when Kotonoha went to kiss Makoto on the cheek, he immediately thought of Sekai instead. Kotonoha’s shyness is starting to annoy the impatient Makoto, and he admits to Sekai that it is very tiring being with Kotonoha. Everyone knows that Makoto would be better off with Sekai, everyone except Kotonoha and Otome that is.

I couldn’t help but feel a little bad for Kotonoha, though. Everyone else has friends to chat with, but when Kotonoha is feeling glum, she has nobody to share her feelings with. This is probably why she is so bad at discussing her feelings. In many ways, Kotonoha’s frustrating shyness is not completely her fault, just as Makoto’s maddening boyfriend skills are not completely his fault. Fortunately, not everything in this episode was so serious. I liked seeing Sekai’s silly outfit at Radish, and I was amused to see that Makoto lives very close to a Nobil. With the school festival coming up, I can only hope that this year’s theme will be better than last year’s theme of “Self-Reliance.”

This is an interesting anime compared to other Romance Anime that I have watched. (Trust me I have watched plenty of RA’s) The protagonist in the anime act’s and what most boys would think of doing ‘in their head’. (but never do it) So I cannot wait until the rest of this anime to come out.

This is also my first time watching a romance anime like this, and I’m enjoying every minute of it! Every time I watch an episode, I feel like re-dubbing it (parody dub I mean, but Hitohira comes first!)

At first, I thought Makoto was coupin a feel on the train, but it was just a hug. I wondered why Kotonoha ran off after that (i know shes shy, but they did kiss, and a hug doesn’t seem like something to run away from), but later we find out its cause Makoto never said her name. At first I thought, “WHAT? THATS THE REASON? HOW STUPID!” but I just realized that calling your girlfriend Ms. “Whatever her last name is” is really cold! Looks like I need more time with the Love Manuel… or Cosmo Magazines

Speaking of Nobil, I HAD MY DRIVING LESSONS YESTERDAY! Can’t wait to start pimpin!

    LOLOL…

I have to admit that it is refreshing that Makoto does not waver for a second, but goes immediately for what he wants. Disgusting, but refreshing at the same time.
