Katherine insults Kazuma, thinking he is some scrub wannabe-ninja Fuujutsushi, but after he wipes the floor with her, Katherine decides to hire Kazuma as her coach. Katherine and Ayano tend to simply charge straight into battle, where Ayano’s superior weapon (Enraiha) is too much for Katherine’s spirit beasts. Kazuma trains Katherine to use her Wisps as a Gundam DRAGOON system, and Katherine starts to fall for his Kira-esque dominance.
When it finally comes time for the duel, Ayano is unable to deal with the multiple attacks. Kazuma reveals this is her weakness, but Ayano refuses to give up and cede Kazuma to Katherine. Katherine’s overconfidence snatches defeat from the jaws of victory, as Ayano skewers Katherine’s Wisps like marshmallows on a stick, and proceeds to roast them all at once with her AOE purifying flame. At first, both girls are gracious and friendly, but Katherine refuses to hold up her end of the bargain, and decides to stay in Japan to continue trying to seduce Kazuma.
The girls in this series are so silly, and the men control them like puppets. Hopefully Katherine’s appearance will light a fire under Ayano, who has even constructed her own cocky Kazuma pillow. Juugo worrying about a new love rival is rather creepy, and poor Ren has to hear this crap every day. Meanwhile, unlike the typical spineless harem male, Kazuma has two beauties paying big bucks to eat out of his hand. That kind of mojo is impressive, which leads me to believe that the Lord of Wind Spirits is a woman.
However, I am seriously starting to question Katherine’s American status. WTF kind of American would complain about blend tea at tea time? For that matter, what American even has tea time?! I thought it was very fitting that Katherine McDonald challenged Ayano at a WcDonald’s, though. That is like homefield advantage, even in a foreign land.
