Kaze no Stigma 14

Fresh off a Continecious flight from America, Katherine McDonald is here “for Dew.” She wants to take the title of premiere Enjutsushi family from the Kannagi family, and is willing to interrupt Ayano’s fancy dinner for a chance to duel. The McDonald style relies more on spirit beasts that concentrate fire spirits into a virtual persona. Katherine wants Enraiha, and puts away her Charmander, Azazel, to bring out her ultimate hunky angel spirit, Metatron.

Metatron has fast regeneration speed, and his fire is unusual in that it can even burn an Enjutsushi. With some tips from Kazuma, Ayano is finally able to get the upper hand by purifying Metatron; unfortunately, this also causes him to detonate. Katherine decides to call it a draw and runs away, leaving Ayano to clean up and Juugo to foot the bill. Later that night, Ayano is forced to fill her belly with cheap ramen. However, Kazuma accidentally splashes her with some of the 2003 Chateau Margaux he brought along, and in licking it off her face, Kazuma gives Ayano quite a thrill.

As silly as this episode was, I was quite entertained. Katherine was a stock ohoho~ character, but her Engrish helped boost her standing. I enjoyed the Whining Dogs in the beginning, especially when they stated to their victims, “The items you have yielded will be used for the salvation of victims from this unequal society, meaning us.” I wonder if there will now be a love rivalry between Katherine and Ayano.

Finally, Juugo came straight out and said he needs Kazuma in his clan again, because Kazuma is so powerful. Juugo seems to be hoping that Kazuma will knock up Ayano and be forced into a shotgun wedding. With this kind of leadership, is it any wonder that the Kannagi clan is full of weak jerks? It’s just a matter of time before Katherine upgrades her Metatron into Megatron, and unleashes hell upon the Kannagi clan.

About Kabitzin:
One of the founders of Sea Slugs, I handle most of the blog admin tasks while wearing my I AM BOSS shirt. I like my action series well-choreographed, and my romance series extra trashy. I also have a soft spot for puns.
